Are double pumps worth it?

Last time I had the single Medela pump and used the other hand to browse on my phone, but it often took like 30 minutes to do both sides. Would it be worth it to get a double pump this time around? I'm a WAHM, but this time I'll have a toddler as well, so I imagine I'll need those extra minutes. Also, did you use and/or like the hands-free pumping bras?

Re: Are double pumps worth it?

  • I had the Medela double and loved it. Only took around 10-15 minutes usually and I was done. Worth it in my mind.

  • Thanks ladies! I am sold! DH was pushing for a double pump this time, but for whatever reason I was resisting it. I'm on board!

  • Hell yes, it's worth it. Also, you can take an old bra that you don't wear anymore and just cut holes where your nipples are, and you have a home-made hand free pumping bra.

  • I loved my freestyle. I could actually keep my bra on and tuck the flanges inside.

  • I've only ever used a double. I'd use my pumping bra and bump while I pumped. :)
Same here. I only used a double to pump at work. I made my own pumping bra by cutting holes in a sports bra I had.
