When did you get your first period and ovulation post loss?

I recently gave birth to my son at 27w5d 3 weeks ago who lived for a little over one hour. I have been temping (which are all over the place), checking CM and doing OPK's so that I can try and get pregnant whenever we can (which has been OK'd by my MFM and OB). My bleeding stopped a few days ago and I have yet to get a period so I am just wondering what your experience is with when you first period and ovulation? Thanks so much.

I am sorry for your loss of your son! I also had a late loss @21 weeks. I got my first period 5 weeks after our loss. I am sure there are other ladies that can answer your question, but I did want to point you towards the loss board if you haven't been there already. The ladies there are going through something similar and were a great support to me when I lost our angel. Huge hugs to you and your family!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had two d&cs so I think it may be different but I got my first period almost a month after both. Good luck to you!

I am very sorry for your loss. I had two first trimester natural losses, each time I bleed for a week and then AF arrived 3.5-4 weeks after that (so a 4.5-5 week cycle). I didn't track ovulation for those cycles as we were told to wait for AF ( so the lining could rebuild) before trying again. I know many women who take 60-100 days for AF to arrive, it all depends on how quickly your betas drop. Are you betas been tracked down?

I don't have any advice to offer but I wanted to offer huge (((hugs))) for your loss. Like PPs have said, that Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss board is where I spent a bulk of my time after our third loss. The ladies there were great, offered incredible support and advice, and some of us are still friends now IRL, a could years later.

That's sad to hear I'm very sorry.

I had my first period about 4 weeks after the m/c ended (it was about a week-long process so I'm not sure when to measure). Ovulation right on track at 14 days. This was all in line with what my OB said to expect (period at 4-6 weeks)

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage that was medically managed and passed at 13w5d. However I had retained products and ended up in the hospital and with another dose of miso 10 days later ("CD11"). I ovulated 14 days after that ("CD25"), had a normal LP and got my period on CD38, so about 5.5 weeks after the loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a first trimester miscarriage. My first post loss AF arrived 55 days later, but I'm not sure if I ovulated because I was not temping at that time. The next cycle I O'd on CD 35 and got AF 14 days after that.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had an early first tri loss and mc naturally. I bled for about a week and then my first period came 5 weeks after my loss. I didn't temp in between my loss and first AF but started temping after AF. I ovulated a few days later than was my pre-loss norm.

I lost my daughter at around 23 weeks. I bled for about a week post-loss, then my period came about 8 weeks post-loss (I'm not sure when I ovulated, I wasn't testing/temping then). It was a long and excruciating wait; I hope it won't be that long for you.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious son. I lost my daughter at 34 weeks. After about a week of post-loss bleeding, I had my my first period 4 weeks later. I have no idea when or if I ovulated, as I wasn't yet temping. I temped my next cycle and never got a clear indication that ovulation occurred, it was a long, wonky cycle, as cycles post-loss often can be. At my follow up visit, my OB had instructed me to call if my period didn't arrive after 8 weeks. So, definitely consider calling your OB if you are concerned.

I would definitely concur with PPs that you should check out the loss board. It is a wonderfully supportive board. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss. (((hugs)))

I had 2 early pregnancy losses (between 6-7 weeks), and my period came exactly 28 days after both of them.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had one loss around 6 weeks. It was a MMC, so I took misoprostol at 9 weeks. AF showed up 28 days exactly after taking misoprostol. I didn't bother temping that cycle, because we were planning to wait to try until after AF, and I assumed my temp would be high anyways because of remaining HCG in my system. Knowing my other ovulation symptoms, I knew when I ovulated, and AF came right on time accordingly. Best wishes to you.

Also- I definitely ovulated a few days after my initial bleeding stopped. Though I continued to spot right up until AF (which my doctor said was normal). So you may ovulate soon if your initial bleeding has stopped.
