Can you wear a Moby Wrap so that little one is facing outward?

One of my twins likes to be in a carrier but is getting too big for the one where he can face outward...  I have a Moby wrap, but was wondering if you can wear it so that he is facing outward?  I didn't see it anywhere in the directions, but I'm still looking.... Any advice?

  • I've seen it done. With the cross front carry. But you really want to widen the cross straps and have LO in a seated position. If he's in a crotch dangle position it's bad for the hips. Does that make sense?

  • It isn't recommended because then all of baby's weight is pressured on their crotch area, also because facing out results in less natural spine support (when they are face in they naturally cuddle into you). An option for you might be to get a woven wrap instead and learn some back carries, where baby is on your back facing forward so they can see everything over your shoulder. Try googling babywearing or check out the attachment parenting board I bet they have good suggestions.
