OMG, Emmy has been a PITA for the last couple of days. Sleeping has been crazy, one night she was up from about 2am till 8:30am straight. She's been a fussy girl. It's been he-l-l for us. We've just got back tonight and hope that being home will calm her down. We've literally been partying every night since Christmas eve and her bedtime routine was pushed back because of it. She's also been hanging out with a lot of family and I'm wondering if it was just overwhelming for her. I'm just hoping that we'll get sleep! I want my sweet angel back.

I thought about that too. I tried looking in her mouth tonight and that was a no-go. We actually have a dentist appt for her on Tuesday for a checkup so maybe they'll see something. I hope that would be an explanation.
Alex has been going through the same stuff- he is normally *such* a good sleeper- but the excitement of the past week has thrown him for a loop for sure. Not waking in the night so much (although he did on Xmas Eve- it wasnt' fun!) but his naps have been jacked up to say the least.
I think it's just overexcitement/stimulation... although I really don't like the whole philosophy/terminology "terrible twos". We put Alex down an hour early tonight hoping he will re-adjust himself and we will see some "sleep begets sleep" action from him... I just hope he doesn't wake up at 4 AM!
Good luck and know that you are NOT alone! Seems like a lot of the neste babies around the age of 2 have been having the same trouble.

I think overstimulation! Although Owen slept fine, he was grumpy, whinning, and throwing tantrums on our trip! Since we've been home, he's been better!
I'm sorry the sleep is off! I've gone through some serious rough patches with that and it is NO fun!
Ugh! I feel your pain, that is awful!
I think it is the craziness of the holidays. We have been running non-stop since xmas eve and this morning Fudgie woke up asking to go to the park. I think it was his way of asking for a 'normal' day
I bet your sweet girl will return after a day or two (lets hope for one) of her normal routine. Until then, hang in there and try to stick to your routine as much as possible.

Wait a second here, are you sure you're not talking about our Oona??
. . .
Word for word, that is pretty much us with Oona (ok except for the staying up from 2am to 8:30am part). For us, we had a few nights where she stayed up til 2pm and just refused to go down. So we're right there with you guys. Add to that, Oona is completely congested and coughing all night so she's having it rough herself. But I hear you when you are wanting your sweet angel back. We want ours back too.
BIG HUGS to you and your hubs!!!
I think it's overstimulation. Both of my girls have been acting different. Very cranky and clingy. We've had 3 days and 2 nights away from home and have been traveling to all the family parties. The girls seem to be winding down a bit, so hopefully the same goes for Emmy. I think they all just need to get back on routine and things familiar.
