Arthur is out of the NICU! (pepperedmoth)

Haven't typed up a righteous birth story, but wanted to update folks to say that my baby is doing really well and was discharged from NICU today. He still needs to be on IV antibiotics for a week for the infection he caught from me during labor (I ended up with chorio), but he is admitted to the normal mama-baby unit and I am with him as a "boarder." This means that unlike in NICU where I could not stay the night or order meals, I get a bed, room service, and all the LCs I could possibly want around to support EBF.

Downsides are of course that he is sick (although he is thankfully asymptomatic) and all of the rooms here are double occupancy so I can't have MH stay with me at night.

Overall though I am in good spirits! I can have lots of visitors, unlike in NICU, so my parents and BFF (along with MH of course) have all been here.

Now what you were waiting for: Arthur Francis: 9lbs 7.8oz 21 inches long born at 2:47 pm on Saturday.
