Pre-term labor 32w4d mo/di ***UPDATE***

Well, I haven't slept all night so figured it was time for a post. I went in yesterday afternoon for a routine NST and they discovered I was contracting every two min. Had a terrible weekend where I overdid it on Sat and felt terrible that night, worse Sun, a little better Monday and today. Took it super easy yesterday and went to Target this morning where I just felt run down. All I felt was some pressure, which I thought was just my boys pushing me in the ribs. Once I got to L&D I started noticing the contractions more...still no real pain just pressure. My cervix is thinned to a 1.5 and I'm slightly dilated to about a 1. I have had three doses or procardia to slow contractions, which are now down to 5-7+ min apart. They can't give me anymore bc my blood pressure is so low now. I've had a steroid shot and will have another this evening. We have NO idea what's going to happen next. This is all so crazy! I have had close friends go through this and I knew this was a possibility but still shocked. Anyway, just sharing this crazy nonsense!

UPDATE: contractions are still 5 min apart but no change in cervix, so they gave me another steroid shot and sent me home. They were going to keep me but some cooky MFM (not my usual MFM) came in and didn't see what all the fuss was about... Told me to come back when I was screaming from the contractions. I'm so glad to be home so that I can rest. Now it's just a waiting game. Could be weeks. We will see. Thank you for all the thoughts and kind words. It's been a roller coaster.

  • Hoping the procardia does its job! FWIW, I was 1.5cm and 70% effaced at 32w w irregular contrax and made it to 34w w no bedrest, etc.

I also had steroid shots then and my boys needed no breathing assistance at all. I hope your boys keep cooking longer!

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

Thanks for the update! So are you on MBR at home then?

Actually, no, I have no restrictions. I have always had the impression that my OB and MFM are not big proponents of bed rest. They said that being active is not going to change anything at this point. My contractions never broke pattern, only slowed, after three doses of procardia. They were going to give me two more rounds but my BP was way too low. They just wanted to get the steroids in and from here whatever happens happens. At first I was confused and surprised they were suddenly sending me home (so were the nurses and OB on call) but I'm glad to be home where I'm more comfortable. At this point they will come when they come. I actually feel more prepared and at ease. The hospital is only about 12 min away, so I think that helps. With all that being said, I will def being taking it on the easy side and really listening to my body.
  • Glad they slowed down and you are home!

  • You sound just like I did with my mo/di boys! 34 weeks 1 day is how long I made it, and mine did well. Take it easy and keep those kiddos in a little longer! You can do it.

  • I was in a similar situation. 31 weeks with contractions 5 mins apart. They were able to slow them but I basically had 10 contractions an hour for pretty much the rest of my pregnancy. My water broke at 35 5. My drs sound exactly like yours about bed rest too! I worked up until my water broke and was completely fine.

I'm glad to hear you made it so far! That's awesome. I go back and forth... Sometimes feeling like they are coming any second and sometimes like I will have no prob making it another few weeks! It's such a roller coaster!!
