I will wait until after 12 months. There is a history of lactose intolerance in my family. Even if that wasn't the case I would probably wait until 12 months.
I'm (assuming I'm going to be) an extended breastfeeder also. But I am going to do coconut or almond milk too. I'm not a fan of pumping, so I'm looking forward to being able to just give coconut milk in a sippy cup!
I recently started putting a little in his oatmeal in the morning just to see how he does with it, so far so good. We'll wait till 12 months or so before we introduce in a sippy or bottle though
The Public Health nurses here encourage us to start WCM at nine months. We have tried him with some in a Sippy cup with his breakfast but I plan to wait a little later before replacing any bottles with it.
I plan trying to replace her mid-day nursing with WCM around 11 months.
Interesting though, our future DCP said she only gives the kids water during the day, but will give DD milk if we want. She seemed to indicate that if I'm still nursing her at home I didn't need to worry about milk during the day. I confused, but am not going to worry about it just now.
We won't be doing WCM at all. We'll be doing whole goat milk at first (which btw is the most expensive milk in the world $-) ) because it is the easiest to digest and closer to human milk composition as far as protein, fat, etc. Then we will transition to 2% when I feel comfortable with her caloric intake from food.
I won't wean until after his 12 mo appointment. At our last appt. my pedi said nothing about it, so I would prefer to wait until I meet with pedi. Not sure why, call me crazy FTM.
We already are mixing BM and organic WCM at daycare. I still nurse morning and night and plan to for as long as it works for us. I am down to 2 pumping sessions and it feels great.
I picked already have. She got a taste of grandma's a few weeks ago at lunch. Now she always wants milk when we have it. So I've been giving her a couple ounces in a sippy once in a while. I keep WCM in the house already because I prefer it in my coffee, so she gets just a little here and there. We will continue to breastfeed as long as she wants to, but will start to supplement the odd feeding with WCM when she is with daddy or grandma. No real timeline, just going to go with what feels right for us. Probably slowly start transitioning it in in a few weeks when daddy comes to join us in Arizona. Until then, it's just me and DD hanging out. Unless one of my darling neighbours down here offers to babysit and give mama a spa day... Then she may get a mix of pumped and WCM a little sooner than planned
She has tasted WCM in her sippy or from my cup, but not more than an ounce in a single day. I plan to extended breastfeed also but I hope to cut down to 3 nursing sessions a day after she turns 1 year, and just do cows milk in her cup with meals.
I'll introduce it after he turns 1, as I did with ds1. I ep so I'll keep on pumping until I dry out, which was around 18 months with ds1. Ds1 didn't like cows milk right away so he primarily got Breast milk until he was closer to 15/16 months and developed a taste for it.

I said at a year, because I'm not opposed to it then, but I'm also in the extended breastfeeding camp. I also have a big freezer stash (though I do have high lipase, I think, so I don't know if LO will *prefer* WCM to my frozen supply), so I want to try and go through that before we make the switch to WCM.
When I voiced my concerns of my decreasing supply to our pedi at his 9 month appt, he suggested that we slowly introduce him to WCM with meals. I haven't done it just because I keep forgetting to pick up whole milk (we only have skim and 1% at home). But I will probably do it sometime in the next month or so. For now, he gets water with his meals (doesn't drink much but it's a good distraction when he starts stuffing his mouth without chewing).
eta: but he already eats cheese, yogurt and other dairy products on regular basis.
I put at a year but it will depend on how she continues to react to me introducing milk into my diet. This past weekend I had alittle hidden dairy (bread) with no issues so I am slowly introducing hidden and then move on to obvious dairy through BM and will continue to BF as long as possible with WCM for meals if all goes well - otherwise we will have to look into alternatives.
We'll probably start introducing it soon to get her used to the taste (she's 10 months), but I'm not making it a priority until a year. We BF, but LO takes water in a sippy with no problem. I plan to start weaning at a year, so we'll slowly transition to WCM at that point.
