We are placed with an adorable boy with some medical issues. He's 8 months old and a peach! We are in love. The hard part is reminding myself daily that he may not be our forever child as reunification is always the goal. For those who have fostered to adopt, how do you cope with the uncertainty? Case workers keep telling me to "protect myself" from heartbreak if and when he is returned to family. My heart does not have an off button.
I always wanted to be a mom, I just didn't know how I would get there.

Congrats and I'm looking forward to hearing about your journey! I think the potential for heartbreak is the most difficult part of the process. My DH and I talk about it a lot as we are going through the certification process.
