Gianotti crosti syndrome... Anyone else???

Dd1 developed this out of nowhere. It's not really harmful except it itches her like crazy and she is surviving off of Benadryl. Its gross looking and I want it to go away before summer. I know that is incredibly vain but She is so self conscious of it and I don't want other kids to make fun if her

  • Ive never heard of it. I was the kid in kindergarten covered in pink calamine lotion for my eczema. I hope it clears up!

  • PS. I rub desitin onto Emma's eczema and it helps clear it up and helps her with the itch. Maybe this could help your LO?

  • Pedi said it has to run its course. Could take anywhere from 10
Days to 12 weeks. It can stay what it is or it can get worse. He said to give her Benadryl for the itching or calamine lotion. I'm starting lotion tomorrow bc I don't want her Living on Benadryl.

  • Basically it will spread if it wants to. It's not like a rash it's more like a skin condition.

  • Poor thing! I had Pityriasis Rosea about 8 years ago and it lasted for 3 months then just vanished.
Maybe as it warms up you could get her some tops with sheer sleeves so she doesn't feel as self conscious and can also stay cool. I just pulled this up quick as an example.
  • That's a good idea thanks!

  • I think the calamine lotion is working! I was going to do oatmeal bath but isn't that only relieving while in bath
