Possible placental abruption?

Hey ladies! I'm 22 weeks pregnant with our 3rd little girl. I'm considered high risk bc I had gestational diabetes both other pregnancies. I went for a routine ultrasound and the Dr thinks she is seeing where the placenta is pulling off from the uterus. It was up at the top of my uterus and she said she wasn't worried bc I haven't had any bleeding.

After looking it up apparently a tearing at the top sometimes doesn't bleed bc the blood is trapped. I'm wondering how easy I should be taking it. She didn't seem too concerned but I'm pretty terrified. I clearly saw the discoloration along the wall of the placenta. Thanks in advance!!

    I'm sorry I don't have any experience with this, but I'm sorry you're going through it. Maybe you could put a call into her office and discuss your concerns. You could also ask about whether she'd refer you for a consult with a high risk OB.

    It was the high risk OB that did the ultrasound. My regular OB's office is closed Fridays and I'm dreading being worried all weekend :-/

    Ugh I understand how scary this kind of stuff can be. I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm sure the high risk OB knows what he/she is talking about, but call your ob on Monday and ask them.

    For now I would just take it easy and find out more from your specialist. I can only speak from my experience, but I lost my son at 18wk4d due to placenta abrubtion and the first sight of bleeding was at 16wk. Very minimal but no one was concerned I didn't have more brown discharge until 2 weeks later accompanied with extreme back ache. Listen to your body and push for more information. If it is placenta abruption they can probably do more once you've reached viability. I hope everything turns out ok.
