I need some help! I am having baby number 3 and no one offered to throw me a shower, so I was thinking I am going to throw my own. Do you think it is also cool to do a diaper raffle asking for a specific brand? I don't want my baby to have different brands of diapers.

Totally! Just make sure they're gender-specific, chlorine free, organic, biodegradable, and fair trade. Nothing but the best for your LO.

And tell your guests not to wrap their gifts; it'll save you time.

Make sure you tell the guests to bring along a gift receipt, which they must show upon every to the shower. If the gift is not of an acceptable dollar amount ($250 at least) let them know they'll need to provide payment in the form of cash (no checks!!) for the difference. Babies aren't cheap, yo!!!

You have to write poems for any requests. That way people think you're super cute and creative and won't notice that they have to spend extra money on your flat vag.

On top of a diaper raffle you can do what I did and charge my friends an admission fee (kind of like a cover charge at a bar) to get in...the shower was expensive (PBR and Old Milwaukee ain't cheap).

Yes have a diaper raffle. Also make the shower a pot luck so the guests can also provide the food.

Make sure you ask for books instead of a useless cards too. If anyone tries to give you a card ask them for the extra $$ so you can purchase a book. Baby needs a library don't you know.
