My ob told me to watch for this as a sign of labour if it is timeable like contractions. I have been feeling this for a few weeks on and off. Im a stm and the ob actually said theae type if cramps are good for my c section (something like thinning uterus?)
But as always, check with your dr to make sure its not preterm labour.
Good luck and hope you feel better and baby stays in there a while longer

That sounds like my early labor with DS. I would call your doc and let them know.

Drink water (lots of water) and lay on your left side.

Call your doctor. I had a back ache and cramps a couple weeks ago, not as severe as what you are describing, but I called and they had me come in. I was told these were signs of labor and I need to be careful and watch if they get worse. It's always better to be safe and over-cautious.

Ditto the water and laying down and I'd also call especially because it's been going on all day.

As the mom of a 32 week preemie due to pre-term labor, I urge to call your OB to let he or she know what's going on! Hopefully, they will want to check you out and ease your mind, or stop labor.

FWIW, my first contractions with DS felt like menstrual cramps.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was told to drink 32 ounces of water immediately and lay on my left side for one hour and if it didn't go away go to the hospital. Of course call your doctor but could also be a dehydration and/or BH as well

Ditto to drinking water and laying on your left side. If it doesn't improve, you probably need to be seen. I would go ahead and call. I had the same exact pains / feelings at 28 weeks and they sent me to L&D and it turned out to be preterm contractions. Hopefully it's nothing but it's better to be on the safe side! Hope you feel better soon!

Like PP have said .. water water water and I would call the doc. Those are a few signs of early labor. Not trying to scare you, it could be nothing, but better safe.

    It's a BOY

Hoping that you called your doc. Sounds like it potentially was PTL.

Thanks ladies ... I just woke up and feeling okay right now ... Baby is very active this morning :) not cramping at the moment ... I'm cautious that it could be early labor .., if it starts back up today I will call my doctor , I've read that diabetics are more likely to go into early labor

Any time you experience symptoms that are potentially PTL, calling the doctor is the way to go.

    Seriously. Just call your doctor.

ETA: even if it is "just" a UTI, that needs to be treated or thing will get more serious. Call the doctor and deal with it.

I would much rather be an alarmist and be sent home with a UTI than to be afraid of looking clueless and have something be seriously wrong.  Just call your OB.

UTI's are a big deal for pregnant women. They can start preterm labour.
Which OP is already afraid of because she's diabetic. And yet will not call her doctor. This makes zero sense.

I experienced what you're describing yesterday. Intense back pain at first, then it crept around my sides to the front across my stomach. It kind if came and went in waves. And lasted an hour. I laid on my side and drank a lot of water. I had an OB appt already scheduled this morning, so I waited to talk to her about it since it went away after an hour. She's having my urine tested for a UTI just in case.

She said you should always call in if you experience 6 contractions an hour and it lasts 2 hours. Like PPs said, if it persists I would definitely call the doctor.
