Chew, Chew, Chew...

I tried this with J and he laughed his a$$ off at me!  Every time I try it, he laughs :-)

Any other suggestions?  His problem is he swallows to early and I am so afraid he will choke and I won't be able to help him.  I give him small bites right now but know eventually he will need bigger pieces to pick up.

    Honest question but, if he hasn't choked, how do you know he's swallowing too early?  He might be chewing just enough for him.  Just give him a few pieces at a time to limit how much he can stuff in there :)

    Also, you might find that bigger pieces are actually better.  The small ones might be so small that he doesn't think he needs to chew but if you gave him say, a spear of sweet potato, it clicks with them.

    ETA: yeah that sentence made a LOT of sense - bigger pieces are bigger.  I need more sleep lol

    My thoughts as well. DD will sometimes clearly have a hard time swallowing a big piece. But she does it and then reaches for more so I'm not too worried.

    Agree with @elmoali‌ LO often does better with larger pieces.
