LO down...cough question

For the fourth night in a row, dh and I haven't slept. Our mild mannered baby has been up all night. He is so fussy and just coughs nonstop. I've tried steaming, elevating, humidifier, and his inhaler. He has no fever. I'll probably be calling off work tomorrow and taking him to the pedi.

Has anyone experienced the cough with no fever? What did it end up being?

    No, I haven't experienced this. But it could just be a cold with a cough and no fever. :(

    Poor baby. I hope he feels better and everyone gets some sleep.

    It also could be environmental allergies. Spring is here. Well, it is for everywhere outside of NE, anyway.

    I'm sorry. It's no fun to have a sick LO. 

    DS had a cough last week. It wasn't nonstop though, so not as severe as your case sounds. I called our pediatrician's office after a few days, because like your LO, he had no fever, but a significant cough. The nurse said to do all the things you've suggested and bring him in if he starts a fever or any other symptoms after another few days. DS cough got better over the weekend, so we didn't take him in, but the nurse said it could develop into an ear infection. Has your DS had an ear infection before?

    Poor little one! If it's cold related maybe try Vicks baby rub on feet and chest? It helped us. Hope he feels better soon!

    Yes, Lo had a cough with no fever, it went away after 8-10 days, we used lots of vapor. It ended up being chicken pox, but I still don't believe it as he had only 3 blisters in his hands... anyhow, I hope your LO gets well soon and you get some sleep too

    LO has had a cough for over a week, however he did have a fever for a day. The pedi said it's broncholitis. Sounds like you're pretty much doing everything you can do. For my LO, sleeping on his side seemed to help at night.

    I'm sorry. It's so rough for everyone when they are sick. Hope the pedi can help.

    My LO had a cough for about a week before the fever developed. I took him to the Dr. and found out he had strep throat.

    LO has been hacking for about 3 days with no fever :( hope yours feels better
