Add me to the SCH Club

Good morning ladies,

As some of you know I had alot of bleeding on Friday and was told that the baby was ok via sono.  But they still sent me home to rest all weekend.  I went back this morning and they said that everything still looked great.  The hearbeat went from 105 to 115 so I am so happy about that.  But she did say that she that it was a hemorrhage, and she belevies that is the source of the bleeding.  She did say that the hemorrhage is on the opposite side of the baby, she said the baby is at top and the SCH is at the bottom.  I am so releived and feeling pretty good.

If you have any expereince with these I would love to hear about it. How long did your spotting last?  When did you see your hemorrhage disappear? Did you take it easy?  Anything else you can share that you think may help me along this journey.

Thank you all in advance!

That must be so scary to be going through. I'm sorry I don't have any first hand experience or knowledge to offer, but just wanted to send a whole bunch of hugs and hopes that it clears up and goes away soon!

Congratulations on the hb! My SCH was found at 8 weeks. At 12 weeks was still visible but much smaller. Giving that I bled for a week when I was 8 weeks I guess it was normal. By my anatomy ultrasound at 19 weeks it was totally gone :) My doctor told me just not to lift anything heavy and take it easy.

I started having pink blood/spotting at 9 weeks and went to the hospital. They saw a small SCH but my spotting subsided within a few hours of going to the hospital, and haven't had anything at all since. This puzzles me slightly, because others seem to have had more/brown spotting but mine never turned brown, it just stopped. Mine is under 1cm, which my midwife says is very small. I have no clue where it is in relation to the baby, they didn't tell me that. I have an ultrasound next week to check on it (I will be 12w4d). I have been worried about mine, but my good friend's SIL is an OB who recently had twins. She told me she had a SCH in her first trimester with bleeding and it didn't concern her at all. So I try to tell myself that :) Good luck to you, and congratulations on a great hb!

Did they say what the significance is of being on the opposite side of baby? Mine is on the opposite side as well, but they didn't mention anything specifically about that. Was just curious.

Wish I had advice but I go in Thursday to see how mine is doing. Still getting brown spotting right now. I'll keep you updated if I learn anything new.

I think she was using it as a calming thing to say, just so I knew it was no where near the baby. I don't think there is a lot of significance on where it is at.
