How many total hours does your LO sleep in a day? DD takes 2-two hour naps and sometimes a third nap in the evening. Then she sleeps 11 hrs at night with one wake up. So she usually sleeps about 17 hrs a day and that seems like a lot! I don't remember DD1 sleeping that much and I'm NOT complaining, just curious what everyone else's LOs do.
10-11hrs at night with ~5 wake ups. Yes 5. Up to 7 on bad nights. During the day, we get a total of around 3hrs of naps. Sometimes three short ones, sometimes a longer and one short. It just depends.
E sleeps from 8PM to 7AM, on average, so 11 hours at night. His naps are totally erratic and usually not longer than 30 minutes. The lack of nap thing is pretty exhausting, especially when he's obviously over-tired and nothing makes him happy and nothing gets him to sleep (except maybe a car ride, some days the only time he naps at all is in the car to/from my parent's house).
I'm just going to throw it out there that all the various sleep threads are getting on my last nerve. @michelle7482 Are you actually curious what others do or just bragging about your baby who sleeps 17 hours?!? I mean, yes, 17 hours is a lot, at least in my opinion.
Maybe I am particularly irritated with this question right now because I just spent the last 2.5 hours trying to get DD to nap in her crib and after putting her down 4 different times and her waking up immediately, I gave up and have just been sitting holding her instead of doing the many chores I need to do around the house. But congrats to all of you with good nappers!
@Bamgal25 Really? I don't play games and if this annoys you that's not my problem. I have a two year old so it's not like I sit around all day doing nothing bc my baby sleeps a lot. I looked up average sleep for a 7 mo old and it said 14.5 hrs so , yes, I am genuinely curious about other babies bc I feel mine sleeps a lot. And FTR, she has only STTN 3-4 times, so nothing to brag about here. If you don't like sleep post then don't open them! For everyone who responded, thank you. It does seem like Alexis does sleep a lot so I am going to try to keep her up more during the day.
My baby hardly gets 12 hrs total a day but as long as she's not cranky i'm ok with it. She sleeps about 10-11 hrs per night and then a total of maaaybe 2 hrs total in naps (she takes half hr naps). She's generally happy and not cranky so I guess she's ok?
LO gets about 11 at night (with 2 wake ups) and naps are crap right now, probably 2-3 hours total in small chunks mostly. So between 13-15 hours total per day.
Maybe an hour nap during the day....7-6 w random wake ups at least 3x per night. I am tired reaaaaaaally tired. DH is on midnights so I am alone w LO at night then DH sleeps til about 2pm so the AMs are hard sometimes. I HATE when people say I have an easy baby because he is happy....um the 15 mins you see him sane don't matter when he loses it at 4pm every evening because he didn't sleep the night before or nap. Vicious cycle...and I won't lie, my jealousy and bags under my eyes were irritated by this post haha
If your upset about sleep posts don't open them. To take the time and question the original poster is silly just go about your day instead of question a legitimate concern. To answer your question P naps for 1-2:30 hours but sleeps through the night from 6:30-6:30. I did sleep training with CIO but adjusted to only 15 min of crying. She now self soothes. Maybe going through a growth spurt? I know naps are easier right now for me because P is.
A gets about 12 hours total. 9ish at night and about 3 1 hour naps. He wakes 4-5 times a night (sometimes more) to eat. @VitaLuna is your LO on a reverse cycle too?

I'm thinking yes, because her daytime feeds have been spaced out more and shorter than they were before the night wakings increased. I also know I'm not helping anything by recently letting her sleep with me all night, but I don't have the time or energy to break the habit I created right now, so we're just going with it. (I work 12s, up at 4:45am, and I started letting her bed share because I was barely functioning at work from getting up and feeding her in the glider every 3hrs).
About 9-10 hours at night with no MOTN wakeups most nights. Then back to sleep for 1-2 hours, a 1 hour nap in the late morning and 2 hour nap in the afternoon. So she's in the 14-15 range on an average day.
I never did any sleep training and my nanny got her on this napping schedule so I dunno how this happened. My 3 year old still wakes me up 3-4 times a week.
@VitaLuna
Yep. We bedshare too. I kept falling asleep in the chair. I was afraid I was going to drop him so we started bedsharing, In a way it's good that he reverse cycles, I'm able to keep up enough milk for while I'm at work. (He's down to 8oz) but I'm not even sure what I'd do for even 4 straight hours sleep at this point. I really have no idea how to even consider changing it. I'm going to feed a hungry baby. Babies gonna baby but mommy sure is tired!
Minimum of three 30 minute naps during the day, max 2-3 hours if we are lucky. Goes to bed between 7:15-7:30, wakes once to eat at night between 3 & 4, up for the day at 7:30.

My LO finally started letting me put her down around the same time every night (8:30). She is up by 8:30, some days 9:00. However, she's up 8+ times, sometimes more, during that period. She wakes every 30 - 90 minutes. She naps every 60-90 minutes and only sleeps for 30. Basically, everything to do with sleep sucks right now.
I don't understand why some people are getting so angry at these threads. Don't open them if you don't want to hear it. My LO's sleep is horrible and saying I'm exhausted, sleep deprived, human zombie is an understatement. However, it doesn't bother me when someone else has a child that sleeps extremely well. I just envy them.
It does piss me off when people complain that they have to wake up 1-2x a night though.

" However, it doesn't bother me when someone else has a child that sleeps extremely well. " but it pisses you off when people complain about only waking up 1 or 2x because their child sleeps well for the most part?
