So DD started out with purées and loved them, then started puffs and Cheerios, then little pieces of fruits and veggies. Now she wants to eat whatever we're eating, so I've been letting her try most stuff if its not spicy. So should I be concerned about salt intake? I know we're not supposed to add salt to baby's food, but is it okay for her to have what we're eating, which most likely is lightly salted? Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Loved your view, @PrimRoseMama!!
this reminds me of when those professional hot dog eaters dunk their buns in water. Eww. Oh, hot dogs! See, back to wieners! And nitrates.
@somerandomchick I also didn't know that. When I found out I had GD pretty much the only thing I could eat for breakfast was eggs so on the weekends I indulged in some organic, uncured, "nitrate free" bacon from Fairway since I was getting so sick of the eggs. I think it was Applegate Farms. I think the label must have a little asterisk and say "other than naturally occurring nitrates" in something or other, must be the celery juice.
