Heinz Ketchup is the one processed food item that I will never be able to give up.
You should try making your own.  It's so much better.  And it's not hard to make.
I'm skeptical. I remember this weird fad in the late 90's in San Francisco when all these restaurants were doing weird things with so-called "homemade ketchup." It just stopped being ketchup after a while.

And, I'm a Pittsburgh girl. We love us our Heinz ketchup.

I'm with @freezorburn.  It will never be the same.  It may be delicious in its own right, but it won't be Heinz.

I will ONLY allow this because you don't eat meat.  Otherwise, I would be shocked and appalled.

When I didn't eat beef, I used to get turkey reubens.  It's not quite the same, but sauerkraut and rye bread are just delicious.

I bet you could make a pretty yummy veggie reuben with some marinated and grilled portobellos, thinly sliced.

I never had real mayo as a kid. My husband had to covert me from MW.

And ketchup never belongs on a hot dog unless you are young enough to order from the kid's menu. It's a Chicago thing.

Apparently, Dr. Todd thinks mayo is good for you. https://naturalsportsmedicine.blogspot.com/2007/04/mayonnaisepart-iilet-truth-be-told.html  Unfortunately, he lost me at the part where I'm killing my kid by feeding him trans fats in 90% of his diet. Seriously, now I have to go read some labels and find all the evil fat.
Trans fats are, in fact, very very very bad. This article is from 2007 tho, so I doubt they're in everything your kid eats. I remember hearing something about them being banned, but a quick google just turned up results that it was a possibility at the end of last year. From Wikipedia: Now in 2013, the FDA is planning to completely eradicate the use of trans fats in all foods, because they believe that there is absolutely no safe amount of trans fats that should be consumed.[153]
Oh yeah, I don't disagree that trans fats are bad. I just disagreed with his blanket 90% assumption about what I'm feeding DS. At least 30% of what he eats is fruit or veg every day, probably more. He does love cheese and peanut butter, though, so I need to check those.

Newb chiming in, but in the debate between mayo and MW, I believe The Oatmeal put it best

Mayo all the way, preferably Dukes.
I keep hearing about Dukes mayo on tb.  It's not available where I live.  Is it worth ordering online to try?  Or is it just a loyalty thing?
Dukes is probably a Southern loyalty thing although admitting that is akin to blasphemy.

PS - The only appropriate hot dog condiments are mustard, chili, and slaw. Onions are occasionally permissible.

Uh oh, I think I'm going to lose my southern card. We only ever buy Kraft mayo. We also only buy non-Heinz ketchup, but that's b/c my dad can't stand John Kerry. (I'm a grown woman and my dad lives 5 hours away, so I have no real idea why I let him choose our ketchup. He will honestly never see it!)

In high school I managed a pizza place. And was alone from 2 to 5... Well someone ordered a rueben and when the order ticket printed. I had no Fcking idea what corned beef was. It sounded hella disgusting. It took 3 tries to make it, and we only had 3 types of sliced beef!

The guy ordering looked at me like I was crazy!! Lol

Still never to this day ever ate one.
