It makes me smile (super huge big time crazy face hurting smile) that I didn't have to drop E off at that POS day care this morning! The nanny was on time, E was slightly confused about staying home with mommy and daddy leaving, but excited about her friend coming over. The nanny texted a pic of E and her friend eating breakfast, and they looked so grown up sitting at the table together! And they both looked happy. Which makes me happy!

We visited both of our families this weekend. I had plenty of help with M, and my FIL volunteered to change a diaper. He never changed his own kids unless no one else was around to do it. He figured out a prefold just by looking at the previous diaper.

When my Dad was visiting a few weeks ago, he fixed the door to our laundry room so now it latches. Which frustrates DS to no end, because it is one of his favorite places to play. So now when he tries to go in there, he cries in frustration for a couple of minutes, and then decides to try a different strategy.
Yesterday was the first day L got to play outside. I took J out as well. I'm sooo glad we got this house. The chickens and ducks were out by the house, the girls kept running to the barn to see a snorting Pumba, the birds were chirping like crazy. And that's it. It's like no one else exists, it's just our own little world.
Should there be an apocaylpse (zombie or otherwise) don't mind all of us and our yurts in your back acre. You'll hardly notice us, I swear.

DS has finally made the transition to crawling!! (Well army crawling! But it's still exciting to see him move all around the room.)
He's also such a talker! He's making new noises all the time. And I don't think it will be much longer when he figures out mama / dada appropriately.
And I to got a second opinion from my doctor friend regarding iron supplementation. And she thought it was completely fine to continue with iron rich foods in a reasonable amount for his size!

DS2 had his longest stretch of sleep yet last night at 4.5 hours (I slept 4 hours). It gives me hope that he's finally on the road to longer stretches. The waking up every 1-2 hours at night is getting old! I expected it though since DS1 was the same kind of sleeper.
@mapleme It's important to note that the tylenol study was not a controlled study, nor did it even attempt to imply causation. However, it has been proven that stress and increased bp (caused by stress) during pregnancy is hard on the mama and the baby. So if you need the tylenol, take the tylenol.

Hunter has pretty consistently been doing 5-6 hours stretches for 1.5 months and people keep asking me "shouldn't he be sleeping through the night?" I just keep telling them that he is BF and I count myself lucky that he does that. All these formula feeders just don't get it.
My IMMS is that going back to work has been a wonderfully easy transition. I miss him but I'm super relieved that he is doing fine without me. And his huge grin when I come home is wonderful.
IMMSM - we're going to close on our first house soon, and are leaving our lease early (we told our landlord as soon as we started looking at houses). We have to pay a $2400 fee to get out of our lease, but that's still cheaper than paying for the 3 months of rent that remain on our lease.
Yesterday, our landlord emails us and says since we're leaving early, he's going to take the opportunity to finish the basement of the house, add a bathroom, bedroom, blah blah. And since that will help him rent it out in the future, he won't charge us the early termination fee! Saving $2400 definitely MMS!
LO was up every two hours to nurse last night (I've been spoiled the last few weeks with only waking once in 10hrs)...however she looked so cute and peaceful on my lap I couldn't help but smile when I got this face.
IMMS that almost every week at swim class someone comments on Maya's cloth diapers. Either how cute they are or how do they work or, from a friend who we haven't seen since the nb stage "omg those are adorable- I can't believe you stuck with it". And I cringe at the trash can full of disposable swim diapers as everyone changes after class. Yuck.
People also comment on the wet Bag that I put all her wet swim stuff and mine in. I see lots of ziplocs. Are wet bags unheard of outside of the CD world? Geesh.
Yes, yes they are. But they shouldn't be, because they are really pretty awesome and useful. I plan to find plenty of uses for mine after our diapering days are over.

So the shot gun reference made me think of a hilarious story...

This weekend at C's 4 month check-up one of the nurses saw C's diaper cover. She stopped and asked if that was a diaper or if it was just a cover and that it was so cute.
Also, it always make me smile when our doctor comments on the cloth diapers. He actually cloth diapered all of his boys as well. He's fascinated with all of the new covers and the Snapi that I use. When he cloth diapered he actually used the plastic pants and pins.

LLOL I'm a versatile lady! I enjoy doing things, so I end up doing a lot. I also started working young (selling lemonade/baked goods when I was 8, babysitting when I was 10, and making a paycheck when I was 14). But I've never been a stock broker. Or on an oil rig. Or shot a gun. Or eaten a Hostess Sno Ball. Or been skydiving. Or slaughtered a goat (but I did help with chickens when I was 10ish). Or driven a big rig. Or been more than an extra in a movie. Or been SCUBA diving (but I really really want to). Or traveled to Asia or South America. Or been in a fist fight. Hmm. This is fun!
I got to shoot an antique rifle in my elementary school yard (blanks). They even had one of the kids throw an ax. They would never allow this now, but man we had a lot of fun stuff in elementary school.
We also got to play with a lot of things in our physics and chemistry classes.
It makes me smile that we got L on the swings for the first time while his grandparents were here. He was a little unsure, but seemed to be rocking back and forth with the very slow motion of the swing. I'm also excited that he can now walk holding both of my hands.
It makes me smile that little man is starting to eat all his puree at lunch. He blw the other meals and I actually laughed out loud at how cute he was feeding himself banana this morning. He got it in his hair and it was standing straight up. My hubby has finally decided that he is going to allow himself to have one day off a week (he works two jobs to save money for a house but he really doesn't need to he wants to get there faster). It makes me smile that we will get one day whole day with him a week. It also made me smile last night when he was reading a Curious George book to little man, hubby likes to pretend he can't read only do math but he did a great job.
We just got back from vacation, and I was totally exhausted dealing with DS not sleeping all week. Today, he slept in til 9:30. And he didn't wake MOTN. I don't remember the last time he slept that late. Now, he fell asleep on the way back from lunch, so he's napping in his carseat. I'll be really sad when he outgrows his infant seat.
Saturday night we had one of DH's sister's and her family (H and 4 kids) over for dinner. The kids watched movies and played in the living room while the adults hung out in the kitchen, and to my amazement, DS spent most of the time with his cousins. Normally he is like a shadow with DH and me, but he was happy to watch the antics of his older cousins for most of the evening.
I'm also still loving the new words and phrases that DS spontaneously pops out with these days. He's started saying "thank you" when I help him or hand him something, and he even said "bless you" when the cashier at JoAnn's sneezed the other day.
@stringy813 It is my new mission to spread the wet bag love to the non-CD world. Did you see the swim dipe post? I've already converted one. Muahahaha, buy your stock now ladies, wet bags are gonna be the new big thing!

IMMS that I answered the door today and the guy asked if my parents were home. And earlier this week, I got IDed and the cashier told me I looked like a baby. I must be looking particularly youthful this week. I wonder if taking two vacations this month did it
I took M to the zoo and carried him in my new Ergo for three hours (my legs say ow after that workout).
IMMS that: I didn't have to get M in and out of his stroller at every exhibit.
He took an interest in the animals this time.
I managed to nurse him in the Ergo.
It was not nearly 70 degrees!
And (unsmily part) M was in sposies since its laundry day and I don't have enough covers. Smily part: as soon as we got home I changed him into one of two clean pockets. He immediately started giggling.

Adrian is doing physical therapy for his congenital torticollis, and he is doing great! After all of our hard work, his PT today said that she was impressed with his progress. I have really been working harder to make sure that I take the time to do his stretches and his tummy time, so I am really glad to hear her say this.
I snapped this pic of him doing assisted tummy time on a wedge (so his neck muscles don't have to work quite so hard, and he can lift his head better).
Yay, so happy he's doing awesomely well! I'm jealous nearly everyday when I see the PTs working with the sweet torticollis babies. I never get to treat them when they're so young and little... He's a doll, @charmingthemoon!
