Bedtime issues - teething or anxiety?

How can you tell if bedtime issues are teething or separation anxiety-related?

The last two nights, Lily (my normally great sleeper) has started screaming once in the crib for the night.  I assumed it was teething since it came out of the blue.  However, today, she didn't show any signs of fussiness and went down for all her naps fine.  Tonight, she started her screaming and wailing routine - I let her cry it out for a bit, but it was too much and she was waking her sister.  I finally took her downstairs with me and she was immediately calm.  Looked a little wounded, but smiled at me with no crying...

Starting to seem like separation anxiety to me - what do you think?  She's our quieter, more clingy baby and just started saying 'mama' (melt).

  • Hmmm, good question.  Fine!  But, she goes to my parents only three days a week and I drop her off just one of those days.  She seems okay...

  • I read that it may be because we don't play with Sloane and Rowan in there room and they only see it as a place to be "exiled"  Night time is tough because they know it will be a long time before they see you again.

We are trying to spend more time in there doing non-sleeping types of things.
