Hi Ladies,
My midwife just called and told me my ultrasound from last week shows that our baby may have an extra kidney but they are not sure yet. I am being scheduled for another ultrasound next week to clarify. The baby wouldn't turn the way they wanted to last time so we have to go back. I'm trying not to worry about it yet as everything could be 100% normal but I was just wondering if anyone else have had an experience like this before?
***update - going tomorrow for the ultrasound ladies. It will be a few days until I hear. I'll let you all know. Thanks for your support!
******update****** just heard from my mid wife - all is good and healthy, no extra kidneys. pHEW. Thanks you all for your continued support!!
((Hugs)) Try to remember that ultrasounds aren't as definitive as we're all lead to believe. The off angle may have caused things to look a bit different than the tech is used to. So they made a note to be on the safe side. One of the ultrasounds I had with my first was so convoluted the doctor and tech at my specialists just threw out the results and redid it entirely, and the original tech had 20 + years of experience.
I have no experience, but I hope all is okay! Try to not worry too much and just wait for the next u/s. It can be really hard to get a good angle sometimes!

Hi All - thanks for your support. I've been doing some reading and everything says that in most cases if it IS third kidney, everything should be okay anyways. I'm not going to worry (too much) until the new ultrasound report comes back. Just waiting to hear when the appointment is. Thanks again for your support - i'll keep you updated!

I was JUST coming in here to say just that! I hope that it ends up being nothing, but even if it does end up being an extra kidney, everything will still probably be just fine. Let us know how everything turns out. FX for a healthy baby, extra kidney or not!
Re: **Update** Just got a call... Extra kidney possible... Advice?
