Recommend your carseat!

LO has outgrown his infant carseat. It is a britax and I'm not crazy about it. The straps get twisted and are difficult to adjust. I'm willing to spend more since he will be in this one for a lot longer. TIA!

Re: Recommend your carseat!

  • Chicco Nextfit.  We LOVE it and so does our little one.  Checkout the Facebook page Car Seats for the Littles.  They can recommend the perfect seat for your LO based off their height, weight, onesie size and your vehicle.

    Happy shopping!

  • We just went from a Britax Chaperone to a Diono Radian RXT and love it! DD seems to like it better too.

I chose it because she is consistently in the 80-90 percentile a for height and weight and I found (from researching and comparing online) that the Radian has generous height and weight requirements for rear facing. Plus it turns into a booster seat for up to 57inches/120lb!

Of course it has all of the safety features I loved about Britax, and it is heavy but way more compact comparatively. Those Britax carseats are beasts!

  • We have a Britax Boulevard in one car and a Diono Radian RXT in another car.  I love the Diono waaaaayyy more than the Britax and I loved my Britax infant carseat when we had it.  The Diono seems much roomier and he's tall so he has a lot more room for his little legs.  With the Britax he already looks crunched in there rear facing.  I will say though, the straps on the Diono are more difficult to tighten.  You get used to it though and I still like the seat better.
  • Evenflo Triumph or Symphony. We have both. The Triumph fits perfectly in my little Cavalier and my husband has the Symphony in his extended cab truck.

  • So, this is copied from another thread. So, please excuse this. However, I give out the same information. If you need any info on ERF or any questions just ask.

Really the 4 best seats for ERF right now are Chicco Nextfit, Graco Headwise/MySize/Size4Me, Diono Radian RXT or r120, and the Clek Foonf. I personally have Radians and a Clek Foonf. I did not go for the Graco or Chicco because they only have a 40lb RF weight limit and my 13 month old weighs 30lbs already. The Radian RFs till 45lbs (for now, the new ones will have a 50lb limit) andthe Foonf has a 50lb limit. They also have very large shells to allow RF til 4-5 depending on the child. I also went with the Radians as they have a very thin profile when using the angle adjuster. The Foonf is cool and has cool technology, but we'll be replacing it with a new Radian in a few months. Also for shell height it goes Graco, Chicco, Diono, and the the Foonf. So, if your kid is tall and skinny get the Graco or the Chicco. If your kid is big like mine get the Radian. If you like engineering get the Foonf. The Foonf is cool, but the Radians shell is 1 inch taller and with the new 50lb seats I don't need the Foonf for my son. Any of these seats are great though and will allow you to keep your child safest the longest.

  • Oh, and I forgot one little bit. Britax seats, though very nice, are not good RFing seats. Unless your child is less then 20%tile it will not last nearly as long as other seats in it's price range. Same goes for seats like Recaro and Alpha Omega.

We had the chicco infant seat and got the britax blvd. in our other car we have the britax round about. I really dislike the blvd. it's hard to get him into, bulky. The round about is so much easier and he seems more comfortable in it. I'm going to see if things get better after we are out of coat season. I really would not recommend the blvd. I may get something different and give the blvd to my parents.

Your LO should not be wearing a coat in his car seat. Nothing thicker than a thin fleece jacket can be worn while in the seat.

  • We have the Safety 1st Guide 65 Sport, and we love it. ;o)
  • I love my Evenflo Triumph.  I despise having to adjust the height of straps by re-threading, so the infinite slide harness is awesome.
