  We removed it last week.  We had to move the straps and based off moving the straps, the manual said to remove the insert.

  Mine has been off since she was 2 months. She became way more happy and comfortable without it. She's a bigger baby so it gave her more room

  I took ours out a few months back but we have a convertible seat now with a build in head support thing. The infant seat head support didn't for right with her so 3 months is when I took it out.

  Haha thanks everyone! I guess it's safe to take ours out. DD also has excellent head control, but she's tiny so we had room for the head support and never thought to remove it.

  We just removed it this week. Our manual said for it to only be used on the first two slots and then to remove it. We are currently still on that second slot since my LO is little but it was starting to get in the way.

  I was just thinking about this as well. LO has great head control and can sit unsupported, but she loves the head support "pillow." She always cuddles into it before falling asleep. I think it's time for it to come out though, she's getting too tall.

  I guess I should look into the recommendation on our Britax. I don't feel like it is in the way, so I have just left it. I wonder if he wouldn't stay cooler without it though ?
