Spent 4 hours last night in the emergency room d/t J pulling up (who knew he could?) and flipping out of his crib. He landed on his head, and it scared me to death. He was screaming, so I picked him up and comforted him, but when he settled down his eyes rolled back in his head and he did this weird gasping thing, so I flicked him on the feet and he cried again. I called the ambulance because I was so freaked out, but by the time they got there he was acting fine and grinning at them. I was home alone with both boys, but my mom came over to take me and J to the ER while DH stayed with A. We got a CT scan and he was fine, no vomiting or other symptoms since. Their mattresses are now on the lowest level, and they are super hard to reach in there! I have a feeling that was my first of many scary injuries.
Re: S/O lowering cribs, MOTY here
DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome.
131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
I had a similar thing happen with M when she was a kid. The only reason she didn't fall out was because I heard her 'laughing' (heh......heheh......) in her room and went to investigate. There she was with her butt in the air, supporting herself on the front crib rail, about to go ass over teakettle onto the floor. It was a close call.
Glad everything is ok! Unfortunately it's the first of many bumps to come... But it sounds like you handled everything really well.

DD fell out of bed one night. She screamed so loud, but in my half asleep mind I thought it was a cat, so I just hit H to go deal with the cat. Then realized nope, that's my baby, on the floor, scared to shit.
So glad everything was alright! Crazy babies keeping us on our toes.
I'm glad everyone is okay.
Don't beat yourself up. It happens and now you know that he can do that.
I just made DH read this because Adeline learned 2 days ago how to pull herself up when in her crib. We have had her in a co-sleeper next to us and the sides on that are only 6 inches high and she almost pulled herself out of it last night. Going right now to convert it!
