Trying not to worry....

So I am 14 weeks pregnant with di/di twins. It had been a pretty easy pregnancy up until Friday. On Friday I noticed that I was starting to spot. It was only a little and pink in color, lasted maybe an hour. Saturday morning I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood. Again not a lot and only last maybe an hour. Then this morning I went to the bathroom and there was pink blood but also pieces of tissue in the toliet bowl. I called my ob and she said that it may be a threatened miscarriage. I go in in the morning for an ultrasound to try and see what is going on. Has anyone had this happen and everything be ok??

Re: Trying not to worry....

  • I agree with PP, there are lots of reasons to bleed in pregnancy - it could just be some irritation, it could be an SCH, it could be a placenta previa. I'm sure there are other reasons I don't know about! I have previa and had bleeding at 17 weeks and it was also heavy with lots of clots. My twins are fine so far (but I really wouldn't have thought so based on the amount of bleeding), I just have to take it easy and go back on bedrest if bleeding starts again.

Sending good vibes your way. I know the waiting is terrible.

I didn't have this problem, but will be following up on this.  Please keep us posted and let us know how you are.  I'll be praying that all is ok and it's just one of those things that happens and nothing serious.

  • I started bleeding at 13 weeks. It rotated between red and brown blood. I was put on pelvic rest due to a blood clot (relatively common) for 5-6 weeks and then returned to normal activities. I'm now 35 weeks and both twins are healthy so it could be nothing. I absolutely remember how terrified I was though so try to relax and remember there are other reasons you could be bleeding other than a miscarriage or problem.
  • No advice but I hope everything is ok!

  • I've had bleeding go both ways. With the twins I bled from 11-16ish weeks. It was terrifying. Sending T&Ps.
