Hi ladies, I know there have been several BLW posts lately so please forgive me for another one. We started BLW a couple weeks ago and LO has been rocking it - fruits, veggies, salmon, chicken, noodles. He's been doing great! Then on Friday he was munching on some cucumber and I was feeling brave and gave him a piece of toast with a very light coating of peanut butter (no family history of allergies on either side). Well, within 15 minutes he had red blotches all over his face! No trouble breathing or distress, but I freaked out. The pediatrician said to just give him benedryl and made me feel like crap because they still don't recommend peanuts until over 1 year. (Am I crazy, or doesn't the newer research say that the ideal time to intro potentially allergenic foods is by 7 months?) He's fine - benedryl cleared his face right up - but now I am paranoid and haven't given him anything new all weekend. How do you experienced moms deal with potential for allergies without following the whole "wait three days between new foods" advice?
Re: BLW Setback - allergies! Need encouragement!
We still wait one day for each new potentially-allergic food, just so we would be able to pinpoint a reaction without doing a crazy elimination diet.

I want to try peanut butter soon so I can know.
I've given cheese to v before. Not yogurt yet because I don't like yogurt lol. I want to be able to give her whatever I'm eating as she becomes more capable of eating. Dairy and peanuts be damned!
