I keep hearing mixed reviews on these seats and wonder from you Stm if they are worth it and the safety risks. I saw this on hgtv.. im not wanting to judge but its unsafe right?
Is the sassy seat better? Has anyone had any exp. With the huggaboo?
I had a bumbo for dd and loved it. Don't have it for this dd though and I really want to find one. It was great to have another option for her to hang out somewhere before she was able to sit up well on her own.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
I had one for DS that I got for $10, so even though we didn't use it for too long, I wasn't really bummed about it. It was nice to have before he could sit up well on his own, and he liked being in it, but he outgrew it quickly.
We have the prince lionheart bebepod. The leg openings are bigger than the bumbo. DD1 loved it and she was a chunky chunky baby. I have a feeling DD2 will too.
This is one you should definitely borrow or buy used. If you have a big baby, they may not fit (chubby legs, tiny holes). Some babies don't like it. Safety is fine- don't put it on a table and don't leave baby unattended. Common sense. We don't have the safety strap on ours and I don't think it's necessary with proper supervision. Our babies used it briefly but they were both early sitters so this was really unnecessary once that mastered that.
I think this is a great item to get second hand or from a consignment shop. It's easily cleanable, and while I wouldn't pay $40 for it, I'd definitely do $20.
Thanks for the feedback! I think I may look more towards something soft and longer lasting like the huggaboo or sassy seat. I want something that he can use even after he learns to sit up. And and he has chunky legs.
@bepandnick I've wondered the same thing! Eli will be 9 weeks on wed. And has no trouble holding up his head.
We use our bumbo now more with our 2 yr old then when he was little. We use it as a seat at the table now so he can he pave dinner with us, he was tired of the highchair and the bumbo works great. We got ours from a friend, so wait until summer garage sales, I bet u can find one.
Re: bumbo/sassy seat questions
DS1 learned to sit up in a laundry basket with the boppy inside
Also I do not believe the were recall worthy.
