This is the weekly June '14 PgAL check-in. This is a place for anyone due June 2014 that has suffered a previous pregnancy loss. PgAL is an exciting but scary place so please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, milestones and vents. Mostly, this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone in the journey and to offer support along the way. Check-in is every Saturday.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? We've been buying here and there. He's set as far as clothes and gear. I'm really excited to try the Momaroo.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I feel good. I'm anxious and excited at once.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Next OB appointment is on Tuesday. Love that we're at the biweekly point.

Any baby awesomeness this week? I love that I can see him kicking and rolling through my shirt.

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? I'm doing a scheduled repeat csection so I don't have a birth plan. I researched new trends in Csections that are more friendly; however because of my GD I know they'll take him and start his sugar work ups at birth.

Henry had a pretty good first week. They took out his breathing tube on Wed, he's still on the ventilator but it's hooked up to a nose cannula! He's also been getting tube feedings of my breast milk and he's tolerating it well. He did have to go back on phototherapy on Thurs cuz his bilirubin went up a little, they're rechecking it today so he might come off it again. His PDA was thought to be closed up but he did have a bit of a rough morning yesterday so they thought maybe it opened up again, so they were just monitoring him for symptoms. He seemed better while we were visiting and was doing well when I called last night. We've been able to help change his diapers and take his temp, it's really amazing to be able to help care for him!!

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? Bought a few clothes, already have a mosses basket, crib and cot and bought a pram :-)

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physical and emotionally drained this week, feeling rough with a bad cold all week, lost part of my mucus plug on Monday, body aching, BP up and down so not a good week this week.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? No appointments for another 2 weeks.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Coming up to my would be due date so been having horrible dreams.

Any baby awesomeness this week? She still laying in transvers, but she rolls around all shapes but prefers the sideways position lol

How far along are you? 28 weeks today! Hooray for 3rd tri!

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?

Received another gift from someone who can't make it to my shower. It was the changing pad with two covers, storage baskets for the nursery, cloth diaper wipes and the wet bag for the diaper bag. So excited to get it all in the nursery!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?

Emotionally I'm feeling great making it to the third tri! So exciting! Physically this was a bad week with lots of throwing up that seemed to be related to awful heartburn. I broke down and finally started taking Pepcid. I figure it's better to take something than keep throwing up all the time.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share?

Next week is my last 4 week appointment then I'll start the bi weekly ones.

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan?

I will have a general idea of how I would like things to go but as for writing out a detailed plan, no. I work in a NICU and it's kind of a joke that if someone has a birth plan the baby will inevitably end up with us in the NICU or things will not go as planned. Maybe this is just nurses being jaded....it's always a good idea to have some sort of a plan

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I've been having cramps and BH's a lot this week, but I'm finally getting more sleep.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? GTT Tuesday night

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? I've been having terrible dreams that are "worst case scenario" and on my mind all the time.

Any baby awesomeness this week? He's been sticking limbs out all over the place. I think he is finally starting to spend time upside down instead of sideways. I think he has spent 75% of this pregnancy with his bottom half shoved in my left ribs so it's a nice change.

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan?

Get me and this baby out of that hospital as healthy as possible. I want to try to labor without medication and to try alternatives to an epidural if I do need meds as well as letting nature do it's work and not jump to pictocin or c-section without a pretty damn good reason. Aside from that I've got more opinions on what happens right after birth such as delayed cord clamping and skiing to skin with an hour of us just being a small family getting to know each other.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Currently I'm at the drs waiting for my 4th blood draw of my 3-hour GD test- yuck!
Fingers crossed for good results!!

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Had an appointment last week and everything was looking good, won't be back for another 3 weeks.

I need to stop thinking discharge is my water breaking prematurely.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? We have pretty much all the stuff we need since it's another boy, but I bought him some Aiden & Anais blankets & looking for (but can not seem to find) something special for his take home outfit.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I feel big already, couldn't tie my shoes yesterday had to have DH do it. I feel like that didn't happen last pg until way later. Emotionally I am beyond excited to meet this little guy so I am anxious for June to get here already but then scared to have to figure out how to take care of two LO's:), yikes!

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? Go with the flow, and stay calm. Babies ALWAYS have their own birth plan. One thing I really want this time, that in missed out on last time though is that golden hour of skin on skin time!

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? Haven't bought anything except for the glider a couple of weeks ago. But we keep talking about what we'll get. I did get some bedding, a carrier, and a boppie (used) from one of my colleagues, which was really nice of her.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? A little exhausted on both fronts. Especially physically. I'm a little desperate when it comes to sleep, actually. I KEEP WAKING UP for no reason! I'm not even uncomfortable, I just wake up! I've started trying to sleep exclusively on my left side (not even on my right side anymore) which might be helping . . . . anyone else have other suggestions?

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Luckily no! Although I do find it very very hard to say "we'll have a baby by that time" as opposed to "if everything goes well, we'll have a baby by that time."

Any baby awesomeness this week? Just cool movement. We need to get some more videos of my belly before he gets so squished you can't see his pokes and turns anymore . . ..

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? Oh yes. I'm taking a Bradley class and am planning on a natural birth. We'll also have a doula helping us out. My mom keeps telling me that childbirth and breastfeeding were not hard for her, so I'm really hoping I follow in her footsteps . . . .

How far along are you? 29.5 weeks

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? Used a really good coupon and free shipping to order an arm's reach co-sleeper this week. This was the one big baby purchase (besides maybe a double stroller) that we needed for this baby!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically, one of my hips has been hurting a lot. My MW said that if it continues, she might refer me to physical therapy for it, so we'll see. Emotionally, doing good!

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Good appointment last week, next appointment at 31 weeks.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Nope

Any baby awesomeness this week? LO has never liked the Doppler. She attacks it every appointment. This time, when my MW put the Doppler on my belly she made a really big movement that both me and my MW could see and feel and her heart rate temporarily raised from the 150s to the 170s. My MW called it a "beautiful" acceleration, and said that it's a sign of a very healthy baby. Was cool to see and very reassuring!

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? Just gave my birth plan to my MW this week in fact! I have two, one for the birth center, one for the hospital (in case of a transfer). She told me that everything on both looked good, and we had a really good conversation about what happened during my difficult birth with DS and how we'll try to avoid a similar situation next time. She was very encouraging that my birth this time can be a completely different experience.

@kimmyberly26 No real news on the house. The owner has agreed to let us move in after the appraisal has gone through, which we're hoping will be this week but no later than next week. We had to move out of our rental this weekend, so DH and I are at an extended stay motel and the dogs are with my parents 4.5 hrs. away. I've been a bit of a wreck, but I have to remind myself that it's not too much longer until we're done with all of this. As for DH and I... we hash things out as they come but every argument is pretty bad. I just hope that after we are all moved into our new house that the stress level will be significantly lower. I do worry about what life will be like with baby girl here, but I tell myself there's no reason to stress over things I don't know about. Just learning to take it one day at a time. Thanks so much for asking!!! I seriously love this thread.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically, my sciatic nerve has been acting up with all the moving and cleaning. My back has been bothering me too... can't tell if it's from the boobs or the bump. Emotionally, just a mess with everything going on.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Never got a call about my glucose test which means I passed. I see the dr every 3 weeks now so I'll have another appointment coming up here at the beginning of April.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Not only did I see my belly move, but DH finally felt her!

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? Nope... just as long as we're both healthy. My hospital actually doesn't accept a birth plan. I do want skin on skin and need to find out their policy on this. I guess I also want to try to go without an epidural, but am not against getting one.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about?

We just bought some vinyl decals for her room with a saying on it and a monogram one for above her crib. We hung them up last night and I absolutely love them.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? My low BP (108/60) has been really getting to me lately and making me dizzy and tired. Other than that, I've been feeling pretty good still.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Next week is my last 4 week appt and then I start my bi-weekly appts with and u/s around 33 weeks. EEEEEKKKK!

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? I was in a car accident on Tuesday where I was rear-ended and then pushed into the car infront of me. I got to spend 2-hours in L&D but baby and I are doing just fine. My PGAL brain was going crazy during the whole ordeal. My dr. checked me out the next day and I'm still shut tight with no signs of early labor so that was a relief.

Any baby awesomeness this week? I'm starting to be able to feel more what position she's in. She's had her back out front alot lately which is reassuring but there's still alot of time for her to get in the wrong position but hopefully that doesn't happen.

QOTW – Do you have or plan on having a birth plan? I'm not taking one with me but DH and I will be better advocates this time for my care. Don't get me wrong, the nurses where great but I feel like we could have pushed off pitocin a little longer and taken other measures after my labor didn't start. I had a high slow leak with DD. I've also started talking this over with my dr. In the end, just having a healthy baby and avoiding a c-section is the main goal.

28w3d, Team Pink, Camryn~~~~~I haven't gotten much more shopping done but we did receive our pack and play from a friend who lives far away, and my bestie did the shopping for the group gift from our coworkers, shower being April 8th. I promised to not look at my registry until then! It's killing me, but She mentioned its a lot of stuff they got. It will seem so real once I have some of the baby stuff!~~~~physically still feeling good but sore in the pubic bone area. Emotionally a little more normal. DH is recovering well, nearly normal but still not sleeping well and very restricted on activity. I just feel like I'm going through this alone because there is so much focus on getting him better right now. I feel selfish for wanting some attention from him because I need to be loved too. He has been very into giving me belly rubs which is nice.~~~~~Wednesday we have an appointment, glucose tolerance test and now going to biweekly appointments, then weekly appointments starting at 32 weeks due to my blood pressure being up at a few appointments in a row.~~~~PGAL crazy showing up in my dreams, have dreamt twice that she came at 29 weeks, hoping that is just me being nervous about the recent early deliveries and not telling he future~~~~~baby awesomeness this week as feeling her roll from one side to the other for the first time, she hasn't done it since but it was the most amazing thing I have ever felt!

. ~~~~~. Birth plan, I think right now I am hoping to do the early stage of labor in the whirlpool tub at the hospital, then epidural when things get intense. Then whatever happens, happens, not much I can do to control things. Definitely want skin on skin afterwards and hope to nurse almost immediately after birth.

Hi ladies..hope you have all been well. @kimmyberly26...sinus has cleared..thankfully! It'll take us about an hour+ to get into the city from where we live..so not ideal. But it's time. How's mom?

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? Our furniture just arrived on Thursday and it has gotten me going. I picked up a new baby book for our bookshelf.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically..my body is mad at me. My back kills on the regular and my hands have been going numb constantly. I don't sleep anymore. Emotionally I am okay, but if I don't get some sleep I may have a breakdown.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I head into the city on Friday to meet our new Pediatric Cardiologist and have a fetal echo done, OBGYN and to have an ultrasound.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? No..doing good.

Any baby awesomeness this week? He's an active little guy and I love it.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Doing better these days. Heartburn is still crazy, but now on 300mg of Zantac so that is helping.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Had my 3D appointment yesterday. Made me tear up to see how perfect he is. He is head down and has a lot of hair on his head already. That explains the crazy heartburn! My next monthly appointment is Thursday to check my cervix before going on our flight.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? I was put on hold until after the shower. A couple of the big items (car seat and PnP) have been purchased, so I'm super excited.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I feel great! It's amazing the amount she's grown in a few weeks. Emotionally I'm trying to get my hormones in check. This week I was short on patience and full of ire.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I passed my GD test but was told I'm slightly anemic. My diet has gotten a little slack, so I'm back on the wagon.

Any baby awesomeness this week? After my complaint to the Dr. that she wasn't moving much, LO has decided to show me how often she can move. She is quite active.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I I took the 3hr GD on Tuesday and actually passed - i'm kinda shocked i had a bad feeling about it. Now i just have to go back every 2 weeks to check my platelet count - it's been dropping. But the same thing happened with DS

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Feeling much better this week, nausea seems back under control, yeasties as well so much more comfortable.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I have my routine check up with the OB on Wednesday, Rhogram shot as well.

Got the courage to buy anything yet / What gear are you excited about? This week I bought DD and LO's fourth of July outfits. They were to cute to pass up. Other than that nothing too exciting.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I am starting to get really tired by the afternoon. I wish naptime was mandatory at work.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Growth scan last week showed LO weighs about 2.8lbs and is in the 62nd percentile. My GD test came back good and we have moved to every 2 week appointments.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? nothing out of the norm.

Any baby awesomeness this week? We are starting to really see those crazy body parts poking through my belly. Still creeps me out a little but at the same time it is just amazing what our bodies can do.

Still haven't bought any items. I did buy yarn for a blanket, then scrapped it and bought other yarn for a diff blanket.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?
Kind of a mess. Out a few days from work with extreme back pain, saw the chiro 6 times last week. Crazy anxiety, acid reflux and Charlie horses every night. I've been really bitchy, not sleeping too well.
In general I guess I would say I'm not in a good place emotionally and when I get to this place it's hard for me to pull myself up and out of it.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share?

I see my doc today. I took the day off BC I need to get my car inspected and of course I waited until the last minute and my mechanic couldn't see me until today. Fingers crossed I don't get a ticket.

I haven't had a sonogram since my 20 week and the doc said no more until 38 weeks if no complications. This is bothering me because I don't feel ok going this long without one. He said the insurance won't cover it without a reason.

The other reason I called out of work is because part of the drop ceiling in my classroom caved in over the weekend. It's been leaking for years but the last few weeks has gotten really bad. The janitorial staff has refused to fix it, and put a garbage can under the leak. Last week the can got full of water and my classroom stunk so badly. Then over the weekend we had so much rain and it came down. It was a mess and I refused to go in there. Our school was closed for asbestos abatement last summer so I know there's no asbestos but it's still a health hazard and it is still leaking. The janitor insists it's safe but he's not my doctor and my principal is taking his word for it. He told me yesterday he can't accommodate me in another room for the remainder of the year. I told him I will get a doctor's note BC it's not safe. There's a science lab above me and it's also possible that chemicals could be in the water that's leaking, never mind mold and whatever else, who knows? I went to my union rep and he scared me BC he said prolonged exposure is more worrisome than anything else and I never thought about the leak being harmful to me and the baby until the ceiling caved in.
Thoughts? Advice?

Nope. C section has been scheduled for months, this will be my third. Doc made a comment at the last appt about me possibly going into labor before the surgery date since it's my third, but I didn't go into labor with either of my girls so I don't think that is likely.

sumochik- I think it's crazy having wait until 38 weeks for another U/S. My doc told me the same thing. While I'm happy that everything is going well, picture would be nice. I was also concerned that if the baby is breech, 38 weeks is really late to find out.

Please continue to work with your union rep and your doctor. While your exposure may not be cause for alarm, the janitor is not an expert.
