Prenatal Screening (NT and blood draw)--how long for results, anyone know?

Hi there!

We had our Nuchal Screening at an ultrasound last week and are now waiting on the blood draw results for any abnormalities.  Our doctor said "around 9 days" for results, but honestly they always seem to WAY over or under-shoot when we ask for a ballpark on result reporting.  So I wanted to ask the community--how long did it actually take for you to hear back, and if everything was "okay," did they still call, or was it an online report?

We are just SO ready to have this last step behind us of testing to make sure the baby is developing normally :)  I know since the Nuchal showed up great that our chances are good, but I can't help be anxious.

Thanks!

  • It took a few days (5 at the most) to hear back. Normally at my drs office, they'll only call if you have anything wrong with the blood work. They called me because my thyroid stuff came back a little off, but then at my appt the following month, they told me the rest of my results came back normal.

With my son, I had them one week before the ultrasound so I got the results at the actual NT screening. With this pregnancy, I'm scheduled to have the blood draw a week before as well so they can just review the results all at once.
