Today is James' birthday -- so a year ago today, we were just waking up in the hospital, having been induced overnight... around 7 AM today is when they started the pit... what followed was a very long day of laboring, walking the halls, bouncing on the ball, 3 hours of pushing, an emergency c/s... and around 11:30 PM our little guy arrived... I can't believe it was a year ago. Fastest year of my life. I can't wait until he wakes up today (oh, please please please be in a good mood for your party, little man!)

Happy birthday James!! And congrats mama for your first year of mommyhood!
I was 35 or 36 weeks and just finishing up some huge projects at work. I had a three hour oral argument on a motion in federal court.... And cursed myself for wearing heels since I was standing for most of it. My peanut didn't make her entrance until 4/26!
I was 38 weeks and starting my maternity leave. We all thought B would make an early entrance (she didn't). This was Easter weekend last year, so H and I were headed to my parent's house!
Fun fact: Because of the way Easter falls this year, my little lady will turn 1 without having celebrated Easter! Well, a lot of our babes will! And we will also celebrate Easter on her 7th birthday!

This time last year, I had agreed to let MH go to Ottawa to help his dad out with moving some stuff, and was really hoping LO would wait for Daddy to be home before making his grand entrance to the world.
In the meantime I was getting the kids ready to go to the Good Friday service at our church with MH's aunt, and was blissfully un-aware that we would be saying our final good-byes to MH's beloved Gigi (grandma) the very next day.
This time last year we debated taking a 4 hour trip for our (DHs) nephew's 2nd birthday. My due date wasn't till the 13th and I was feeling good. However, we chose to stay home and spend Easter with DHs grandparents and also get some things done around the house. I'm so happy we did because DD showed up on April 3. Also, DH ended up losing his grandpa unexpectedly on April 12, so I'm thankful we spent that time with them.
This time last year I was 39 weeks pregnant and had an old man crash into the rear end of my car in a parking lot. I was getting a cake for H's birthday and came back to my car with people surrounding it. Thank goodness I wasn't in the car when he hit it.
One year and a day ago, I was trying to push a very stuck baby out! One year ago I was cuddling my sweet baby in a hospital bed. Thankful that I feel 100% better than I did then.

My baby was very stuck too -- must be that midwestern stubbornness. ;-)
One year ago I was at home with a one week old who slept most of the time and was thinking, this isnt as bad as everyone says it is...HA, oh silly naive little mummy.
This time last year I was 38 weeks pregnant, dealing with sciatica, thinking I should probably get around to buying the last few things we needed for my homebirth and trying to figure out how to get my midwife to let me go as far as I needed to past my April 13th due date - I was 100% convinced that I'd be like two weeks overdue.
B had other plans and made her entrance on the 5th. She was welcomed by two ecstatic but completely unprepared parents - her crib was still in it's box
One year ago today we were hosting Easter dinner, the day before actual Easter, for both of our families. I was 38 weeks and since I had my first at 39 weeks I didn't want to be over an hour away at our parents just in case baby #2 came even earlier. Well my little lady took her time and didn't show up until April 22, when I was 41 weeks, so it didn't matter after all. But at this point I was just thinking "any day, any day" and feeling so anxious and excited to meet our sweet baby! Even with all the unpleasantness the goes along with the last few weeks of pregnancy I always feel weirdly jealous of 8-month pregnant women just knowing the amazingness they are about to experience. I can't believe I'm almost ready to do that again!
I was 36 weeks and starting my maternity leave...I got an extra week because of spring break! LO was still comfy for another month. He was born April 24th.
One year ago today my H and I went to a movie (can't remember the name Jennifer Lawrence is in and a dance number at the end) and I got popcorn even though it was good Friday and then went to Bandidos and ate meat (being a bad catholic) I didn't care because I was 37 weeks pregnant and it was my birthday.
This day last year I was at a painting party with my mom and some of her friends. They were drinking lots of wine and having loud fun and I was falling asleep and going to the bathroom a billion times. I think I annoyed the chick who I had to squeeze around over and over. The painting instructor guessed I was having a girl because she sensed a lot of feminine energy lol.
This time last year I was 36 weeks along, still working, and was really starting to feel miserable. I had just had my last baby shower a few days prior and was putting the final touches on his room, the laundry, and organizing the house. My little pumpkin came along exactly 4 weeks later, right on his due date!
A year ago today I had just finished my last week of work, convinced DD would make her appearance "any day." She waited until 4/25. I remember just feeling so ready to welcome her into the world. I remember putting the finishing touches on everything: her room, washing her tiny little clothes, packing my hospital bag, etc.
Gosh, I can't believe how fast this past year went!
A year ago I was just coming home after 6 weeks of hospital bed rest. I spent 25 weeks total on bed rest and I just so badly wanted to be home with DD1 and DH. DD2 came two weeks later.
A year ago, I was 39 weeks along... I remember stopping by the grocery store one evening around this time to pick up a few things and going to a register with only one other person in front of me. I thought, "Score, I'll be out of here in no time!" Well, ha. The customer was a teenage girl dressed rather provocatively who was doing not one, not two, but three separate WIC transactions, all involving formula. It took FOREVER. After about five minutes I literally sat down on the hard linoleum floor because I was tired. I wanted to wring her trashy little neck. And I totally judged her for not BFing. Yeah, I was a little cranky.

I'm at the bottom of this thread and am in full on ugly cry mode!!! How is it possible our babies are a year old?!?! It's going too fast. I am honored to have taken this journey with each and every one of you beautiful women. As for me I don't know exactly what I was doing. I was still working so I'm gonna go with being miserable.
Re: It's so crazy to think that....
I didn't "love" it bc you were on bed rest but bc you now have your LO that was all worth it
