Babies R Us registry question

I've received a few gifts already from my registry but I guess when they bought it, they didn't give my name or say it was for a registry. I signed up for the promotion to get 10% back on a gift card for everything purchased from my registry. If I take it to the store, will they add it to my registry so I get credit for the promotion? Even worth the hassle?

  • Probably not. You will likely have to take everything back and rebuy it off your registry. BRU can be douchey about these things.

  • Follow up related question. Does anyone know how the 10% works? When you get the coupon? I set up a BRU registry but I am the only person who's purchased anything off of it with my completion coupon. It was a big item, the glider, so getting 10% back would be nice but I'm not counting on it.

    They send out the completion coupon 6-8 weeks before your due date. I just received mine - it's for 15% off your total purchase. ETA: the "sweetest registry deal" is different. That's where you get a gift card 8-10 weeks after your due due for a percentage of the items purchased (for a total of $200 max). OP - I'm not sure, but it's worth calling to ask.
    Not really my question but I guess I'll wait and see sometime in August-ish?   I can't add big numbers like May+8-10.

  • Call customer service and just ask … can't hurt :)

    I ordered changing pad stuff last week and they went on sale this week and they price adjusted, despite my DH saying they wouldn't refund the difference. 
  • I was able to have my crib credited the other day, online using the chat feature.

  • Great thanks. I'll talk to customer service. And FYI to PP, my completion coupon was only 10% and I just got it. I'm not sure why I didn't get 15%. Maybe because I didn't have a ton of stuff on mine, only like 30 things
  • I did not have a lot of luck with customer service when I called to let them know someone had purchased something off the registry and it wasn't showing up as purchased. They said they couldn't add the credit unless I had the original receipt. Obviously, I did not, as it was a gift that hadn't even been gifted to me yet (friend just gave me a heads up). I could mark the item as purchased, but it wouldn't "count" towards the registry incentive. Also, I only received a 10 percent completion coupon, and I had over 100 items on my registry. I would love to know how/why people get the 15 percent.

  • Do any of you know if you can combine the 10% completion coupon with other 20% off coupons from buy buy baby and etc?
    On the website under registry perks it says 10% off no exclusions, but wasn't sure how true this is.

    I was called this week to be told my coupon should arrive soon. I was told it would be for 15%, though the woman did say that she knows they often go out saying 10% and she doesn't know why this is. So, I would ask Customer Service when you call, and also ask your local store.

  • I had this happen to me where several items were bought and didn't come off my registry. I did the online chat and explained that I would still like the 10% credit, so I told her what the items were and she took them off the registry. A couple weeks later, however I went into the store and they told me that all they can do is manually take the items off the registry, but it won't count toward the 10% gift card and in order to get it you need to return the item in store and buy it again off your registry as someone said above. Also, I believe I read somewhere that when you use your completion coupon it won't count toward your 10% gift card unfortunately.

    I only had 5ish things. I believe I read it's regional.  BUT last time mine was only 10 and I had an actual full registry that people besides me shopped so IDK.

  • Boo, I'm mad it takes 6-8 weeks to get that gift card! I should be getting the full $200 (we put our furniture on the registry so that adds up!) I guess it will be nice to use when I'm on maternity leave though for diapers/clothes.

  • HOLY CRAP!!!! Sooo just did the chat online for help to get things marked off that was purchased and was told that we can do it online when logged Into our registry. All you have to do is change the purchased number and then click update.

    Yes, but they won't count towards the 10% back which is the real issue.
