POAS need result help (bfp mentioned)

So yesterday was 9 & 10dpiui and I took my first test last night when my wife got home. I waited about 2 minutes and the second line didn't show. Shortly before going to bed I went to throw it away and saw a faint positive. So I anxiously took a digital test out and took it. Staring at that test waiting to see the results and BAM it pops up positive! We scream, we cry, we can't stop smiling.

Well this morning I took another frer and the 2nd line never showed in the allotted time. It's about a half hour later now and I can see a very very faint line. WTF does this mean!? It was kind of crushing to not see a bright pink 2nd line this morning. I am not scheduled for my beta till Wednesday but I emailed to see if it can be taken today.

I'm still in shock and don't know what test to believe.

    Hoping this is your BFP! It is still a little early which could be why the lines are so faint.

    I'm not really sure what to tell you. My instinct is to say that if you got a positive on a digital, then you are good to go. I don't honestly know though. I hope that is the case though!

    We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013. 

    11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good. 

    12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

    12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

    We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

    I was thinking that the digitals were the real deal too.... But now I am so nervous and don't know what to think. Ugh!

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I've read all sorts of stories about people being able to turn one type of test and not another (and it's different types for different people). My advice would be to stay calm and try again tomorrow, but I know I wouldn't be able to follow that advice. I'd probably go buy a couple different brands and see what happens. Good luck!

    When I got my bfp, I got two faint positives on 12 dpo on first response and two definite positives on digital. On 13 dpo I got a negative on a digital, freaked and despite telling my partner that I wouldn't, took another first response test, which was positive. My theory is that because that early on the hcg numbers are so low, that even though many tests will pick it up, they aren't typically designed to be quite that sensitive consistently, which is why they normally don't guarantee accuracy early on. I remember how crushing it was getting that negative. I really hope that it's the same situation for you as it was for me.

    I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling. "Beta hell" can be really rough. We had a mc and our lines were really faint, our betas rose and then stopped doubling. While I am certainly not saying this is the case for you, this also means anything can happen at this point. This is such a stressful time and until you get two-four betas in (to ensure doubling) you never know and even then anything can happen. Be strong and support each other. Take each victory and milestone as it comes and remember there are people here to support you!!! Hang in there!

    Well I am a glutton for punishment... Took 3 more tests and got a faint positive on frer and negatives on digital and store brand blue ink kind.

    I couldn't get in to do beta today but I will go in first thing monday morning.

    I'm sure I will poas more before then. Lol

    I think FRERs detect as low as 10 hcg... And a digital usually detects about 50. The cheapies usually take a lot more to detect. You are still pretty early, so low hcg would not be abnormal. Mutliple tests that turn positive (even faint positives) are a great sign. Good luck on your betas.

    It is still early, I hope that the Beta on Monday reinforces your bfp, in the meantime I hope you have as calm a weekend as you can (I would say don't poas since the messages are confusing, but I know that I would ;-).

    Keep us posted.  I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you and your wife!!
