February 2014 Moms

Feels great to work out again ...

I ran ten miles last night and feel like a million bucks!

No, I'm not serious. But we did take twenty minutes to get ourselves together enough to go on a two-mile slow walk as a family and dog. DH had the dog. I wore DS2 in the Ergo under the Boba vest and pushed DS1 in the stroller. Damn, I was sweating and I'm feeling it this morning. But felt great to actually get outside on the tail-end the longest winter ever. However, I definitely need to buy some new sneakers since my feet have grown. (Ugh, pregnancy side-effect).

So any else getting out to enjoy "spring?"
Anyone else's feet grown? I can't be the only one who desperately needs to go shoe shopping!

I've been getting to the gym...it feels good to sweat out the last of the post-baby hormones.

My shoes still fit, but my glasses don't. Well, my prescription doesn't. I can't tell if my vision is better or worse, but my glasses are giving me a headache.
  • Gym 3 days this week. And hope with some nice weather to go outside today for a walk
  • Loading the player...
  • I did 15 min on my elliptical and my legs were so sore it woke me up in the middle of the night lol.
  • Your first sentence nearly made me cry over my running shoes. I can't wait.

We've been walking a lot. I try to get out for at least twenty minutes a day to stretch my legs and the dog's... But we haven't had a lot of spring like weather yet.

I'm glad you got out! It does feel amazing to exercise again. I just got back from a jog/walk with the double BOB. I can barely walk while pushing that thing uphill - it has to weigh like 70 pounds with both kids and the carseat attachment - but I've been trying to run on the flat and downhill parts.

  • I go to the doctor for my 6 week appt on Friday and should get cleared to work out. We've been walking, but I'd definitely feeling ready to do more. Not sure when I'll find the time during the day, but feeling ready!

  • I met up with some ladies from my breast feeding group to walk on Tuesday and it was awesome! Though I've put off deciding on a jogging stroller and I think I'll need to decide ASAP. The keyfit caddy is not great for all terrain.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

    Mom to Lily and Colin!
  • We've moved from freezing temps and snow into rainy days here, so I've had to get creative. But I did discover (using an app on my phone to track it) that one loop around our mall is exactly a mile, so I took LO there in her stroller one morning this week and did three laps. Yesterday, I broke out the Wii Fit for the first time in months and did some activity while LO watched me from her swing. You're right that it feels great to get moving again--but I can't wait until it's outside!!

    What app is this?

  • Thanks for the motivation ladies! I've been feeling the need for some light yoga and I'm thinking today is the day! (If I can get off TB that is lol)

  • I signed up for stroller fitness starting next Wednesday. I'm excited to have a class with other new moms. But I highly doubt they'll be as cool as the F14 moms!

And forget new shoes, now I need a new stroller! Mine is lame

I am nervous for my first day post-pilates for this reason!
My first pp pilates I did a plank.  For 8 seconds.  That's all I could handle.
