If your LO wakes up when you put them down

Every time we put DS down in his crib he wakes up. DH remembered that with DS1 we would put the heating pad in the crib on low to prewarm the crib so the cold crib doesn't wake him up. Just a little tip if you LO doesn't like a chilly bed. Of course check the crib before laying your little one down to make sure it's not too hot and remove the heating pad before laying the LO down. Works like a charm.

  • I put a flannel crib sheet on the bed so it's not as cold.  Seems to do the trick!

I might need to make a rice-filled heating pad. :)

    Brilliant idea. Thanks!

I have been using a heating pad in the bassinet as well. Each time I take her out to nurse I put it in there to keep it warm. Our room is freezing as well due to lack of real insulation (really old house, horse hair plaster) so there is also a space heater on right behind the bassinet as well. Regardless, whenever I take her out of there her hands are freezing and I feel so badly. I know she would rather stay cuddled up with me in the warm bed, so I have to make sure she is totally back to sleep before I put her back in the bassinet (sans heating pad of course) ;)
