Re: Yikes!

  • Which one was it? And that is pretty impressive if it was only 3 minutes.

I can't do spooky stuff by myself anymore. Seems like I could pre-baby, but I'm a big ol' weenie now.

  • I get addicted to reading the spooky stories on reddit and I could literally sit there for hours reading them, so of course it's at night after E goes to bed. I get so freaked out that I'll accidentally forget to turn off the lights when I go to bed and I am on edge for days thinking there's someone watching me through the window right at the edge of the ring of lamplight. Then I swear them off for a couple of weeks until another thread pops up and I get sucked in again. They're so addicting and creepy! I love/hate it.
    Can't do videos though. I'm a weeny.

  • @knickerbockers - the one about the creepiest things kids have said is THE FREAKING WORST. I still kinda get creeped out when I remember some of those stories.

    Bonus IRL creepy story:

DS woke up somewhere between 3:30/3:45 (during the witching hour), and was really hard to console. He ended up leaking through his diaper, then pooping after I put a fresh diaper on him, so I guess that's what it was? Anyway, I was sitting up in bed rocking him and patting him on the back, with my eyes mostly closed, which was working to soothe him. Suddenly, I saw this dark shadow crossed about 2 feet in front of my eyes. I shot them open and looked for the cat (she's black, and the shadow-thing seemed the right size and density to be her), but she wasn't on the bed. I didn't feel the mattress move as though she had jumped on the bed, either. I looked around briefly, and looked toward the bedroom door which was cracked open as usual, and saw what looked like a long, thick shadow near the door frame, on the same side as the door handle. It was about 3 feet high and maybe 1 ft wide, but seemed to have actual mass that takes up space, sort of like a thick gas or a liquid or something. It didnt have a definitive shape. It was dark in the room, but not pitch black, because the safety lights outside my apartment shed some light beneath my curtains. I was still rocking DS, trying not to freak out, so I closed my eyes again and said a quick prayer. When I opened my eyes again, the shadow was gone. Seeing the absence of the shadow only further convinced me that something was there to begin with.

Pretty sure sh*t like this is why I can't handle spooky stuff by myself anymore.
