Longest breast feeding binge?

How long have your LO's gone when they're on a breast feeding binge? DS has been going back and forth between boobs for over two hours now. He was fussy and squirmy if he wasn't attached but was also tugging off and on when he was latched. It's been two hours and twenty minutes and he's finally looking like he might fall asleep on the boob.

Re: Longest breast feeding binge?

  • E has been cluster feeding for 3-4 hours the last few nights. Tonight he's asleep after a 90 minute session but I have a feeling once he wakes it will happen again.

  • I don't even know when to mark that the feeding "started" so I can predict when he'll wake up next or to make sure he doesn't sleep too long.
  • LO demanded to be nurses tonight from 6:30 to almost 10. DH was passed out so it was exhausting doing this alone. The worst part, she must have overfed because she had projectile vomit. Do you think she stopped after that? Nope. She wanted more boobie.

  • This is the only thing that I like about eping! Hang in there ladies :)
  • LO has been wanting to nurse all evening it seems - and then when she does, she lets go and cries.  I think her little tummy is full, but still she wants to eat!  DH took her and she fell asleep on him.  Sometimes I think if she's on her mama, she thinks she gets boob no matter what...
  • She seems to be a late night cluster feeder — usually from 9pm until 2am, which is freaking exhausting. So far we are an hour in and I am not looking forward to the next 4 hours.

  • Every night she goes on a binge it seems. Currently we have been on and off since 830pm. Last night was the first night in a week I got her down before 2am. It's not looking good tonight.

  • Mine cluster feeds often at night. Longest was about 830pm-1am... But the good part was then she slept til 7 and only briefly fussed around 330 for a diaper change.
  • I'm currently going through the same thing. He fed from 730-945 and then woke again at 1045 screaming. He pulls and pushes, but never acts like he's done. My nipples are raw.

  • Zack generally nurses for about ten minutes every hour, hour and a half during the day. Luckily, he'll only nurse for fifteen minutes every three to four hours at night (most nights anyways) So I don't get a whole lot done during the day, but at least I can sleep!

Last night DS was feeding from 1am to almost 7am. He then fell asleep but woke up at 9:30am and I don't know how long this feeding will last...

ETA : I'm breastfeeding laying down In bed at night, and DS and I are both half asleep while he's nursing at night, which might be why it takes so long sometimes.....
  • This thread is scaring me. I'm so tired and baby's not out yet. How am I going to survive?
  • DS always cluster feeds in the evenings - he'll eat about every hour for several hours in a row. Last night was the first time he just didn't stop at all. Sorry @bingbongsmama‌ - supposedly it does get better, but truth be told, there's some rough nights ahead. :-/ But we'll all survive.
  • When do you ladies switch sides? I have a feeling lo will be on the boob all night.
  • @Laurenash23 I try to nurse 20 minutes each time each side.
