Bra washing

So on the morning show I listen to, they were doing a bit about things that men don't know about women.

One of the things was that "women don't wash their bras often and will wear them until they smell." All of the women on the morning show agreed that this was true, and many women listeners were calling in to agree that they also seldom washed their bras.

I was like

:-&

So, say it isn't so ladies? I will wear a bra no more than 2x before I wash. The thought of any longer than that makes my skin crawl.

Yea i wear mine plenty of times before i wash. Usually a week.

Well that depends on what i am wearing. Dark colors get my black bra and lighter colors get the nude. I only have 3 bras total. I usually wash them about every two weeks. Hand wash and hang dry.

I listened to that same morning show (unless multiple shows were doing the same content).

I will wear my bra multiple times before washing. But I have never used them smelling bad as my cue that its time for a wash. I also have at least 10 bras, so they are on rotation.

You actually shouldn't wash your bras that often, makes the "shelf life" (?) shorter.

I'm a weekly girl in the winter.
In the summer when it's hot outside and I'm outdoors and exercising more, I will wash more.
I don't really sweat in the winter, and my bras definitely don't smell.

I am jealous of the non -sweaters.

I hand wash in cool water only and hang dry.

In the winter, I wash them every few weeks. In the summer, I wash them quite often, especially if I wear them outside and sweat. However sports bras get washed every single time. I only have 2 bras that currently fit me. I think that's a great excuse to go shopping.

I'll wear them for a while. Somewhere between 1-7 times. But it depends. Are we talking "went for a five mile run" in it? Then I wash it after one wear. Are we talking "wore it for half a day sitting around at my computer"? 'Cause that thing ain't going in the wash any time soon.

Well, if we are talking about MY bras-- I can promise you none of them have ever been on a 5 mile run.

So, yes, mostly just sitting at work (desk job) and regular errands.

I have also concluded that I must just be sweater and/ or smellier than average. That does not surprise me at all.

I am gross. I wash the two I have on average every month or so. I had a good rotation before DS, but none fit anymore. I do wash them a bit more frequently in the summer because we walk a lot and I do sweat, but usually they'll just get aired out.

I'm part of the IBTC (itty bitty titty committee

) so I've actually starting trying to see how often I can get away without wearing them. They are basically annoying nipple covers for me.
