Just so y'all are aware, driving in Boston blows giant chunks. If you're going to do an in-city meet-up I'd suggest parking outside the city and taking the T. For real, I'd rather drive in LA.
I was thinking the same. The only place I've ever driven to in Boston is the NE Aquarium.
Hmmm... I've been begging my SO to take me on vacation. He doesn't want to fly with LO yet (germs or whatever his issue is, no clue...it's not like he'd be the one taking care of him on the flight) but maybe he's drive us to Boston for a long weekend but then again as soon as this stupid winter stops it'll be busy season for him again
I suggest meeting at the Wakefield lake. There is a park and a sitting area and food and ice cream close by. There is a train station a few miles away and buses that go right to lake. The lake has a real name but I'll have to google. It's nice to walk around as well if people want to bring strollers etc.
Quannapowitt? When I lived in Acton I nannied in Wakefield and would take him to the playgrounds and for walks around that lake.
I'm so in! I live in Boston, so that location would not be a problem for me as I walk and take "The T". However, as maryannespier noted, driving in Boston is a bitch, and managing to navigate my way OUT of Boston via automobile is an anxiety-provoking issue for me that I have yet to tackle. So for me to attend, the location would have to be accessible by T or on a date or a time when SO is off work so he could drive.
I feel like everyone who hates driving in Boston should go into town early on a Saturday morning and get a feel for what lanes to be in to get around. After that, it's really not bad! And this is coming from a former NH resident! That being said, if we did a Boston meetup I would take the T in

Once I drove around Harvard Square for like thirty minutes hopelessly lost and narrowly missing many pedestrians who were wantonly ignoring jaywalking laws. That put me off driving in Boston forever.
Sheesh. Sounds like driving in certain parts of Lynn, Chelsea, and Revere. Can't even tell you how many times pedestrians (often with strollers!!) stepped out in front of cars and buses on my way to and from work everyday when I lived/worked in that area. Awful!

So long as wherever we pick is relatively easy to get to (aka not a maze of crazy traffic like Boston :P) I should be okay. I'm not too terribly familiar with driving around closer to the main metropolitan areas of New England.

@Asbromle I really want you to join us, too. We can finally show Mr. Bromle that I'm not a creepy guy who lives in my parents' basement.
