Pregnant & TTC After A Preemie 3/21/14

Welcome to the check in group for Pregnant After Preemie! This group is also for those who are actively trying to conceive, planning on it, or just thinking about it...

So, list your first name, due date if you're pregnant or ttc timeline, preemie's name and gestational age at birth as well as the reason for their prematurity.

------------------------------------------------

Last week Updates:

Congratulations to takmjs on her recent BFP!! Her thyroid level is 0 and it has never been below .35 which is an added risk to her pregnancy. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a happy and healthy 9 months ahead! Please let me know what your EDD is.

jcsntms06: shared a very adorable picture of her daughters and DD2 (Caroline) just turned 2! Time flies!

MinaE01: Last and final CL check was a success! Baby is on the 43rd percentile at 31 weeks (3lbs 6oz). Stay put LO!

Missa_g: Officially on the TTC list! On first cycle off BCP and D&C-Good luck on your TTC journey and hoping for a BFP and sticky baby for you soon!

rslhmg: everything looks great and doc thinks that she will make it to at least 36 weeks with weekly monitoring. Yay!

flergirl: had high BP reading and small amount of protein in the urine; Baby girl is fine so they sent her home on bedrest, but doc says there is no reason that she would be coming soon. Stay in there baby girl! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

haziedaze: still going strong at 34 weeks and 3 more P17 injections!

mrsdbc: Getting more baby stuff organized!

Bluebird2318: Baby is still growing in utero at 35 weeks! Woohoo!

PhillyGal34: Had MFM visit and diagnosis is severe gestational hypertension and not pre-e because there was no protein-got good news that she will most likely go to term when she conceives again! yay! Will have early glucose test, 24 hour urine catch early on and other additional testing to get baseline numbers; sounds like your MFM is on top of it which is great! Will take Mirena out in May and officially TTC in June. :-)

As always, thanks for organizing this, punky! Things are pretty much the same for me - bedrest and increased meds are really helping my BP stay low! Hope everyone else is having a great week :)

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

Punky917, thank you! I'm pretty excited about it, and things are going well so far, with some occasional cramping. I don't have a dating ultrasound for another 3+ weeks, but if I had to estimate, my EDD would be around November 24th.

Not much to report here. 14+1 weeks. So happy to be out of 1st tri. M/S is pretty much gone which is really exciting. I'm still pretty tired though. Had our NT scan last week and everything looks good. There was definitely only one babe in there. Tech made a guess that squish is a boy but I know it's a 50% chance so we will see what the a/s says.

Everything is still looking good, she did decide to play with the cord a bit during monitoring and cause a few heart rate drops, but dr said it was clearly when she was tugging on the cord and not something to be alarmed over. Gave momma a little bit of a scare, but dr said its actually very common.

@megs2011 Yay for being out of first tri! We had a pretty confident boy guess at 12-13 weeks that turned out to be accurate. :)

@flerlgirl Glad your BP is under control! Keep enjoying that third tri goodness!

36 weeks tomorrow. My BP was measuring slightly higher than normal on my home monitor last night and this morning (about 5-10 points higher). It measured a bit higher than usual at my OB appointment today as well (124/70), but OB wasn't worried. I have very slight swelling in my feet, but nothing crazy. My weight was also up about 5 pounds, though OB didn't seem concerned about that either (even with my history) given that I had actually lost a couple pounds the week before. And to be completely honest I was expecting a temporarily big weight gain. I spent the 3-4 days prior to my appointment visiting family and stuffing myself full of fat- and sodium-rich restaurant food the whole time! Think holiday eating, but worse! ;) No protein in urine, so that's good. The "symptoms" are all potentially explainable especially being 36 weeks pregnant, but I'm still kind of nervous...

For right now I'm just trying to relax and enjoy the fact that my OB was not concerned at all. I'm sure you ladies know how it goes! If you can spare a second to cross your fingers for me, I would appreciate it so much! Thank you! I know I'm in a good place at 36 weeks no matter what happens, but I'm still hoping for FT and a VBAC! DH is being great about it and is taking over some of my duties with DD and around the house for the next few days so that I can relax.

@haziedaze Loving the estimated weight! I have no idea what my little guy weighs right now (haven't had a u/s since 28 weeks), but I like to imagine he's closing in on 6 pounds. DD came home at 4 lb. 8 oz. or so if memory serves. Craziness! I can't even believe it. We are so freaking pregnant at this point. ;)

Add me to the pregnant list! Found out a couple weeks ago and just had our first appointment. So far, so good. Hope this is an uneventful and smooth ride.

ETA - sorry, I forgot I created a new screenname. I was formerly jullybean. Thanks!

Hi ladies - I haven't been around for awhile but want to stop by with an FYI.  I remember how nervous I was having my 2nd after my first. I just want to advise you to check with your insurance company and see what services they will provide if you had a previous premie.  My insurance had a nurse call and check in with me every 2 weeks and go over all my symptoms, the sent nurse to me once for a conversation.  I had a nurse come and check me and give me my p17 shot every week.  She actually sent me in for preterm labor when I felt fine, the hospital stopped my labor and I went on to have ds2 at 39w.  Happy and Healthy to all expecting moms.
