February 2013 Moms

words you wish they didn't say

"Beer" :( I blame my brother and dad on that one. I hardly ever drink in front of him. Every drink is "beer". Even a glass of water.

"Butt" This one is my fault. "It's time to change your butt!" "Do you need a new butt?"

OH! And he looks me right in the eye, smiles and sticks his finger up is nose. He knows it drives me nuts so I try not to react but EW.

Anyone like to add? ;)

Re: words you wish they didn't say

  • @singingsea - I think our babies are soul mates.  DD also says "beer" ("beeya!") and "butt" was I think her 4th or 5th word?  And for the exact same reason.  One day I went into her room after she woke up and asked if she needed me to change her butt, and her response was, "Butt?  *giggle giggle* BUTT!!"

And she's a nose picker too. I blame myself though, because she had a cold a couple of months ago and I kept picking it for her because she had all these dry, crusty boogers just inside her nostrils.  She didn't pick her nose before that, so it's totally my fault.

  • I need a new term for "sit down" He insists on standing on all furniture, and his toys and I am always screaming "SIT DOWN" well now while he when he stands he screams out SIT DOWN!!!!

I have to laugh secretly cause he yells it and knows what it means and is SUPPOSED to do it but instead just says it. The worst is when he is in his room playing I know he is being bad in there because he screams out SIT DOWN and I will go in there to find him standing on his little car, so he is ratting himself out lol  *sigh* I am pretty sure this kid is going to make me use a lot of medical insurance in the future lol

  • Uh my kid only says like 4 words - hi, daddy, mama, nannie. I think he says "yeah" occasionally too.

However, it's just a matter of time before he starts saying "stinky". I use that all the time with him!

  • My kid doesn't actually say any words... He sort of says "hi" but it's more like "ha" and he uses it for hi and bye.

Ds isn't a big talker either. He says mumum , daddee, nana, and bye. He does sign some - no, more, milk, all done, and dog

  • DD2 only says Mama and "woof woof." She has realized that we all think it's adorable when she says "woof woof," so instead of just saying it for dogs - which she did for a while - she has now started saying it to all sorts of animals. Which is also really cute.

  • DD is still a gal of few words. Mama, Dada, get it, Nana, yes and tickle tickle- which sounds like ticky ticky.

I am pretty sure she said dang-it the other day. She learned that from her Grammy. Not cute Grandma. Not cute.

  • "Maow". They BOTH do this now, since DH decided it was time to have a cat again last month. Now both my boys, the moment they see the cat, hear the cat, or even think the cat is anywhere near by, we get "maow! maow!" from both of the boys. It makes me CRAZY. They crawl around on our bed to look over the edges trying to find the cat, meowing at it.

I woke up this morning to "meow" "cat" "meow" "cat."  The first was the cat, the second was DD.  Would have been cute except the cat knows that if he wakes up DD, we'll wake up and he'll get fed, so he meows at her at all hours of the night.  Grrr cat.
  • "COCK!" she says alot :-)
and DS says "Fuuuu*k!" like he means it.

Sorry, but DH and I can't help laughing. DH, as it's is he who says it, did point out that "Fu*k" is one of the most versatile words in the English language, and I can't disagree ;-)
