This was on a doctor blog this morning. The article and picture are kind of funny, but it paints a pretty sad picture of healthcare in america. Thoughts?
When I was younger and didn't have insurance I would get inhalers for my asthma from my grandma or mom. I sucked, but paying to be seen by a doctor so they can write me a Rx for medicine I've been taking my entire life also sucks.
Never mind how expensive the medicine is once you get the prescription.
I caught part of an episode of Extreme Cheapskates or whatever it's called where the girl was digging through dumpsters behind a medical facility to find medications. It skeeved me out that people may have seen that and thought it was a good idea.
All over in the not so good neighborhoods where I live there are "cash for diabetes supplies" signs and similar. Boo. Of course, in developing countries...total nightmare...people sell anything and tell you its and AIDS drug, etc.
