So we named DD Mya. LOVED the name then, LOVE the name now. Problem...people see Mya and think it's pronounced Mia (Me-uh) or people who
know she's Mya (my-uh) spell her name Mia. Two different names...
We didn't like Maya because to us it looks like it would sound May-uh
Were we super dumb or are people idiots?!? Basically just trying to get a general consensus, if you saw MYA, how would you pronounce it?

Mia is mee-uh.
Maya is the same as Mya.
I would definitely pronounce your DD's name as my-uh!

People butcher the simplest names. I wouldn't read too much into it.
When I meet a Mia though, I am never sure if it's My-uh or Mee-uh.
