Kids say (and do) the darndest things

I just got a round of applause and a "good job at cleaning my butt" from my 2 year old.
Followed up with a "You're a good guy"

Where do they come up with this stuff?

  • DD shakes her head and rolls her eyes if you do anything she doesn't like!!! She's 18 months old, idk where she gets it but it so cute and so hard not to get mad at her.
  • You never realize how much they pick up from their environment until you get these types of reactions.

I still don't know where DS gets "I can't like it" from.

My daughter says "I can't like it" too. No one actually says that. The way they put words together is hilarious sometimes.

I see that they are 2 months apart, must be in the genetic coding of 2 year olds to utter that phrase. It cracks me up, since he can't like ANYTHING! We watched Thomas, he said "I love Thomas" 30 minutes later when I asked if he wanted  more Thomas, he practically cried and said "No Thomas, Mommy, I can't like it"

  • My 2 1/2 yo niece told DH that he can be a daddy now because he can read.  She also smashes her face in my crotch to yell "I love you, Skeleton Baby!"  because she saw the ultrasound photo and thinks we're having a baby skeleton...

I finally had a sit down with my 7 year old nephew a few weeks ago and told him that we're going to have a baby a few weeks after his birthday.  His reply was, "Good. I'm glad your not just getting fatter."

    All ALers welcome!

The other day my DH said. "I think I can see the bump, look at your belly!". I said jokingly are "are you calling me fat?" DD (3.5) says "Papa are you calling Mama fat? She has a baby in her belly and it is getting bigger, not fat. Do not call her fat" I almost died laughing.
  • My DS doesn't talk yet (beyond "up" and "mommommommom" and "dadadada") but he's already such a character with his potty art, shaking his head, smiling back at you as you tell him not to do something, pointing out what he wants, happy squeals, dancing, and blowing raspberries on DH and me.

....Talking will be a lot of fun I'm sure. :)
