I'm still a week or so away from my 6 week check but I'm looking forward to some sexy time. For those you that have DTD. How'd it go?

I seriously cannot remember when DH and I DTD after DD. Maybe I blocked it out?

Come on ladies, dish. Good, bad or ugly I want to know. How'd it go??

The first time HURT. SO. FUCKING. MUCH. We couldn't finish, it was terrible.

The second time we used lube. It was better, but was still slightly uncomfortable. I felt like a virgin again (LAWL!).

I had a c-section so I was expecting everything to be good to go. We had lube b/c BFing = dryness. Everything was fine until I got on top, I suddenly felt like he was touching something he shouldn't, like there was a hole that shouldn't have been there. It freaked me out. Haven't been brave enough to try again to see if it was possibly all in my head.

Ugh.... Your supposed to have sex again after a baby?
Just the thought makes my vagina hurt. Im secretly glad my pp appt gor scheduled for 7 weeks instead of 6 so I get an extra week before DH expects any...

It's was horrible. Had 6 week pp visit yesterday and doctor said everything looked fine but based on my discomfort he said I could wait another week. SO was driving me insane so I gave in, worst decision ever because 3rd degree tear and ouch! Felt like stitches were being re opened! We'll try again in maybe a week.. Or never?

was hoping for something better.

We can have a "scared of sex again" club lol.

My 6 week pp check is scheduled for just after 9 weeks, so DH knows there is no rushing to the store for supplies. I just can't even imagine it. If I close my eyes I can still feel birth, sooooo not sure I'm emotionally prepared for sex anytime soon!

My husband had a hernia surgery when I was just over 4weeks pp, so he hasn't been bugging me to dtd like he did after the first two kids. I'm glad the timing worked out like that, I love my DH, but my vagina would rather be left alone for a while longer.

My BF refused to leave my bra on, freaking disaster. I had just fed LO and pumped and still milk was EVERYWHERE. He didn't care but all I could think the whole time was what a waste of perfectly good milk.

After DS1 was born DH and I DTD the night before I had my PP checkup and I remember it didn't hurt but from where I had my episiotomy it felt like that skin wasn't strong. It's hard to explain. Almost like it would rip open or something, but not painful. ?? That sounds so awful. But I just suck at explaining it for some reason. Like everyone is saying though... LUBE! Squirt some on there. And then squirt some on again. And when you feel like you've used too much, put on some more. Trust me. Especially if you're breastfeeding... Because dry as the desert.

Has anyone DTD before getting cleared? Not just a few days before but maybe a week or two before 6wks? I'm going to be 5 weeks PP on Tuesday and this is awful having to wait.

DTD at 4w pp @JA82406‌. It was not great, but after the initial bit, it was enjoyable. The day after was not fun. Since then we have worked on better angles, so as not to over do freshly 'healed' areas. I had talked to my MW, she basic stated that I knew my body better then she did. If I thought I was ready, she wasn't going to say anything different. (I declined stitches for my 1st degree tears, and used the healing practices).

For me, even though I smell like spoiled milk, have other bodily fluids on me, it still makes me feel more like my 'old' self. It truly help my relationship with DH, and the after deed conversations are wonderful. I know it's silly, but it helps cement our 'team mentality.' It's hard to put my relationship with DH first, but it's so important. Without him, I wouldn't have LO, and his amazing support.

We DTD at 4 weeks PP too, to the day actually. But I'm not BFing anymore and only had minor 2nd degree tearing.

Y'all are scaring me. We haven't yet (and won't until after my 6 week appointment) but I felt good about it until reading this. I only had one small tear and I've not had a single second of pain since my OB finished with me after she was born (I realize how incredibly lucky I am) so that's why I was so optimistic things would be fine. Now I'm not so sure...

Don't be scared @Madelyn0713‌! I had a similar experience with a small tear and very little pp pain. Our first time after baby hurt very little. I second everyone else; lots of lube and take it slow.

2nd degree tear and hemmorhoids that won't go away even with midwives advice = nowhere near trying. I'm 8 weeks PP but after reading these i think we can try again when LO is 8 years

7 wks pp, 2nd degree tear, Trojan bare skin condoms, tons of lube. Holy hell it was awesome! Orgasm was fantastic. I popped 3 ibuprofen afterwards and have a little bit of spotting. Try to stay relaxed! We did (hopefully not tmi) on our sides with my leg thrown over his hip so I could control the depth. Worked well.

I was actually really looking forward to DTD again but I went to my 6 week PP visit and was told I wasn't anywhere near healed up enough and that it would probably be another 6 weeks before I was good to go

Another 6 weeks?! Argh!

Although, after reading this thread maybe I am happy that I am not ready yet...sounds rather horribly painful for the majority of people.
