Graco Classic Connect infant seat and/or Graco Blossom Highchair - input wanted!

Anyone have thoughts on either? We have registered for those, just making sure we made good choices.   I thought Graco was a good brand and I liked the seat is only 7.5 lbs, but now reading reviews that the buckle is hard to open on the Classic Connect car seat.

For the high chair - we do have room to use it & store it (i know it's larger than some), I figured it was good bc of the fact it also came w/ booster seat option.

Thanks for any input!

  • If you have problems with the Graco buckle you can call or email Graco and they will send you a replacement. The "sticking" buckle was fixed several months ago so yours should come with the new one anyway.

I'm no help with the high chair since we will be getting a space saver that will also be used as a booster ( Fisher-Price Booster Seat, Blue/Green/Gray by Fisher-Price https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSAWIP0/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_DL8ftb1AK5GY0 )

  • Which Graco seat? Am assuming you are refering to a Snugride. There are a few different models. Pricing of them on Amazonakes zero sense right now. We had the Snugride 35 (with the classic connect) - never had an issue with the buckle, however Graco did do a safety advisory on it & recalled the same buckle on many of their convertiblr style seats (translates to sending out redesigned replacement buckles).

The specific one we got came with the infant insert, and removable strap covers. Have read on Car Seats for the Littles (a Facebook group that has car seat experts, certified technicans & parents) that smaller sized newborns do not fit well in the Snugride 22 (might be labeled as a Snugride without the number), however small infants are fine with the 30 & 35. Something about the lowest strap location.

I chose the 35 because it had the level indicator on the seat (where as on the 30 was on the base - figured if installing without the base, would want to make sure seat is at proper angle). Also liked the base that the 35 came with better because had an nicer knob on its angle adjustor & easier to use belt lock off. Plus the 35 had a nicer location for the rubber grip on the carrying handle (seemed more ergonomic to myself & hubby).

In terms of high chairs, know nothing about them. We have a 2nd hand space saver chair that clips onto a chair. We also got another one that is more of a travel version. Would check the product info &make sure thr tray has at least one removable cover which can go in the dishwasher. You don't neef the high chair for a while though if pregnant now. We started using one after 6 months when we started introducing solids & had LO in a Bumbo chair that was on the floor. Was easy to clean, could be used for other purposes & was 2nd hand as well. A friend had one & would bring hers along wben visiting with her LO. Have herd goid things about the ikea high chairs. What ever chair you get, would look for something that is easy to clean & has wider straps (they seem more secure than the narrow ones).

  • I can't comment on the carseat because we have a Chicco and I love it. A little more expensive but it's a great seat and super easy to use.

As for the high chair we have the blossom and I really like it. It's easy to clean and can be used for a long time period with all the adjustments you can make to it. However, it does take up some space...we have a small kitchen though. I love that it's on wheels.
  • Found a reliable source that discusses the different Snugride carseats by Graco. Is a lot of info to digest, but has details about the various models.... https://csftl.org/graco-infant-seats-whats-the-difference/

  • We have a Classic connect 35 and loved it with DD and will be using it again for this LO. It was easy to use and because our DD was such a peanut we actually used it well past a year with her.

We also have a blossom high chair. I love it too. Yes it does take up space but it rolls around really easily and is easy to clean. I also love that it doesn't have a bar in between the legs like other high chairs I have known some kids whose legs would get stuck. We used it starting pretty early on because she hated not being able to see us on the floor in the bouncer. So since it reclines we started having her in the chair at dinner at 2.5 months, long before she ate anything in it. I also loved all of the different configurations it has, it was helpful when friends with a baby almost the same age would come over. I would remove the chair part with tray and strap it to a dinning room chair and then setup the base of the chair with the other back and we could have 2 kids eating at the same time. I also used to put her in it while I cooked or did dishes and just roll her into the kitchen with me. It was way easier than hauling the jumperoo in there but still kept her entertained.

  • We used both and had no issues with either!!

The SnugRide/Classic Connect (we have the 22 versions ) are lightweight and served their purpose. DS outgrew his at 6 months so we switched him to a convertible at that point since it was easier to carry him or put him in a stroller, since he could sit up.

We loved the Blossom high chair and used all the different configurations. No complaints there and it was easy to clean and remove the padding to wash.
