I had to supplement for the first time today. My pumping has been decreasing the last couple of weeks. I know that I've made it 8 months, which is good, but for some reason I'm still all emotional today over it.

Don't be emotional! Supplementing is the best. I started doing it around 6 months because he was so hungry. 8 months of pure breastfeeding is phenomenal
Last night Ros was reluctant to nurse and this morning she only nursed one side... So this morning I used my hand-pump at 8 (so like 13 hours since she'd nursed left side) for 2 oz just to relieve pressure. Then at 10:30 I used my PISA at work for a full session, getting about 15 oz (a normal morning is 8-10, not using a manual at all). I'm about to go pump again and I'll probably get 5-7.
I'm kind of a milk machine. Moooooo
Holy moly! Do you have a huge freezer stash? That's awesome
Thanks ladies. I know there's no reason to be sad over it, but damn these mommy hormones! I really want to make it to a year bfing, so hopefully that still happens.
As for the original question, I seem to only pump 2 oz these days. Though sometimes I hook up and get nothing at all. At night I get the most because I pump right before bed, like 6 hours after nursing her last. During that pump I get about 3-4 oz.

Big hugs. It is emotional.
I pump 4oz a day. Sometimes 6. It makes me sad, but I've tried everything to increase and it's been an uphill battle since going back to work7 months ago.
I usually get 10, but sometimes 12. We've been supplementing one sippy cup for a while now.
Riley usually takes only 12oz at DC. But lately she's been doing 15oz! She pounded her sippy cup on the ride home today. She may have hated the bottle but she loves her sippy!
I pump 3 times per day at work and get between 3-4 ounces each session. Baby C takes three 3 oz bottles at daycare. I have a stash of about 30 oz which makes me nervous because I have weeks where I do not get enough.
I pump 3x at work and get about 10 oz. on a good day I get 12, which is what he takes at DC. I started supplementing a month ago. I couldn't keep up and for my sanity I had to.
I pump 3 times a day and get 4-5 oz per session typically. Since DS hasn't woken at night the past two days, I've gotten more from my first pump (about 8 oz). And today I missed my 2nd pump, so I got 9 oz from my typical 3rd pump.
Either way it works out to somewhere between about 12-16 oz a day. He eats 15 oz a day while I'm gone so he's eating a bit more than I'm pumping on average right now, but I have about 275 oz frozen, so if I sustain I will have enough to get him past a year.
I pump 3x/day at work. I get somewhere between 10 -14 oz. LO eats 10 to 12 oz at daycare. I have a freezer stash that I am starting to rotate with about 400oz since I have milk from November.
With oatmeal and brewer's yeast I'm at 2.5 -4 a session with a broken pump. What I wouldn't give to go back to when DS was little and I pumped 10+ after feeding him and in a very short period. sad panda. I'm suppose to go away for a loong weekend at the end of next month- but if this continues, we will have issues. Grrrr.
4-5 my first session, 2-3 the other 2. Luckily, DD is only taking about 9 each day while she's away from me these days, so we pretty much break even most of the time. ONLY 2 MONTHS AND A WEEK UNTIL THE PUMP SAYS GOODBYE!!!
ETA: I feel like I should make a countdown to no more pumping ticker with a little cow on it. Mooo.
I pump in the morning after LO eats and average 6-10 oz, then twice while I'm at work. Normally 3-4 first session then 5-7 second session. It almost always averages out to 9-10 oz. He eats 6-9 oz while I am at work, so I also put a ton in the freezer. As my freezer gets full I donate it. I know logically I could drop the morning session, but I don't mind it that much and it gives me peace of mind knowing even if I get busy at work I will have enough. So I continue to pump and donate. I like that I am helping to feed another baby too.

Congrats on 8 months of breast feeding. It's an accomplishment to be proud of!! <:-P
I pump 2 times @ work and a third session at some point. (After bed, early morning, or 3 @ work). Each is about 4 oz. Sometimes more for the first (like six). I'm short 2-3 oz a day and have to shuttle over to the daycare. SOoooo sick of pumping.
@somerandomchick I understand that milk banks do those tests, but it just seems excessive to me for a person-to-person donation. If she can get someone to do that, though, that is good for her.
I don't even know how to get an HIV test (does any doctor do it?).
I don't know if this is common, but NY does them routinely when you give birth (you can decline) - if your state/city does, you may already have one documented w/your doctor?
Wow, I am so depressed after reading this thread I pump 8-10 oz with FIVE pump sessions over an 8-9 hr work day. I send two 5 oz bottles milk and 1 bottle formula to DC each day. My freezer stash is nearly gone. I've done everything under the sun to increase supply. Silly me, thought it would be easier the second time.

I think this is a totally normal feeling. I felt that way too with Ds1, I was so torn over supplementing and felt really emotional about it, but it's just the idea of taking that step that sucks. Supplementing was nothing but beneficial for our BFing relationship. I think it was the only reason I was able to BF to 1 year because the stress of supply was relieved! Good luck and hugs to you, momma. You rock!
Agreed - after all of my health issues this winter, I've had to supplement some days, and it's been OK! I think the hardest part was just the fact that it happened at first when I couldn't be with her. But now it's actually really nice just to pump when we're apart - I don't have to do it after she goes to bed anymore, and I actually DO usually get enough for the day. I even have...wait for it...6 whole ounces in my freezer! All this to say it was hard for me to do it at first, but now I'm OK, and she's OK, and it's been nice to cut myself a little slack. (Also, the kid ate half a blueberry muffin for breakfast; it's not like formula's any worse than that ;-))
I EP and am working to wean from the pump. I'm down to 4 pumps a day and get somewhere between 3-7 oz at each pump. We supplement with formula and frozen milk. I'm hoping to drop down to 3 pumps next week.
@jeng100 That's awesome that you've made it to 8 months! You should be so proud.
For Lent I'm trying to give up my mommy guilt. It's been difficult, but I'm just now starting to be at peace with my breastfeeding journey. I didn't want to EP and I never imagined I wouldn't make it a full year breastfeeding, but in the end I have a wonderful son who is thriving regardless of how I feed him. There is so much pressure (at least that's how I've felt) to exclusively breastfeed, but ultimately I've come to the realization that for me my sanity and how that impacts my son & DH is way more important than breastfeeding.
I pump four times a day during the week. My first pump of the day, I get over 5 ounces but the rest of the sessions I get around 4 ounces each time. I'm still rotating my freezer stash and still on the September frozen milk. (I pumped a lot during maternity leave.) I'm glad to have that stash as I had to supplement with it during sinus infections, mastitis, and antibiotics.

DS has decided he only likes to eat from my boobs first thing in the morning. Screams, cries, bites....at other times. So I've been going through my stash and pumping when he naps and before I go to bed. I used to pump a ton so easily, now if I get an ounce I'm happy. Today I got 7 ounces in 2 sessions...yay! I also introduced formula a day before he turned 8 months. My supply has been lowering for weeks so I saw this coming. He hated formula and I have to mix it with milk, but hopefully he'll get used to the taste soon....because if he won't eat from me he's not going to have much of a choice.
I pump 8-9oz a day, two pump sessions, but I use a manual pump. Last weekend we introduced some formula, I was recovering from a stomach bug and got my first PP period, and my boobs were just deflated, and Ian seemed starving. I feel like my supply has rebounded some, but I have been giving him 1 bottle of formula a day since, and I have to say it's liberating, and he thinks it is delicious. The kid ate pizza crust last night so I figured formula is way better than that, lol.
Pre mastitis (last week) it was still about 18 ounces a day....but post mastitis it got cut in half.
Today has been about 2/3.....
It should bounce back up, but it takes a while. It took me like three weeks to get back to almost normal and I had a mild case.
To answer the OP, I am getting about 19-20oz a day still, usually 6-7oz in the AM, 5oz at the next two sessions, and then like 3oz for the final session. Gavin's eating 22oz a day, so I am not keeping up, but my freezer stash is still pretty big, so I've been dipping into that.

I hate pumping and can't wait to be done with it.
