Give me the scoop on indoor waterparks/resorts

I'm planning a summer trip and want to take DD (she'll be 4 1/2 this summer) to an indoor waterpark/resort. Looking to stay 2 nights. Was strongly considering Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells but its pricey ($289 p/night). Has anyone been to one of these? What was your stay like? Has to be kid friendly (duh), affordable, and within a few hours drive from the Chicago suburbs...

    We are thinking about going to the one in Traverse City for spring break. Everyone I know that has gone says it's a ton if fun, even for the adults. It us very pricey, so we are still debating it.
    The humid heat thing is kinda if turning me off of it though :/
