So a couple of weeks ago I posted about how I was assigned a pretty crappy project at work because it doesn't require travel and I can easily work from home for it. I was feeling like maybe my choices were going to end up killing my career.
My manager's manager reached out to me today about it. He said:
1. that's awesome because it's not all that demanding as you ease back in after kid #2
2. it's boring as hell - so i expect you'll want some kind of creatvie outlet
3. your talent level is WAY higher than what that project requires, so as soon as you have your feet under you - we're going to put you on something more strategic
making sure you know that i know that this is a placeholder
and i'm waiting for you to say "go"
sound good?
I am SOO happy and relieved! Figuring out what the best choices are to balance work and life is really difficult. I know you all know that too.
