I was offered a bath in the hospital the same night I had DD. I passed and showered, but only b/c I didn't want to sit in a tub full of bloodied water. Now I wish I had a functioning tub at home so I could take a bath.

I wasn't told one way or the other, but I've been hesitant to take one due to tearing pretty badly and I wasn't sure if that would be good for me. I should have asked sooner! I've been DYING to take a hot bath!!!!
Took one the other day and planning on taking one tonight when SO comes home. The day LO was born, I asked the nurses (asked again when the doctor arrived) when I could take my baths. They said as soon as I feel comfortable and to make sure someone is around just in case.

My discharge papers and my doc said 6 weeks because the uterus is still open to infection. I don't know how current that is but I'm a week pp and my stitches are all gone already. I wish the hemorrhoids would go away. Usually a bath makes me feel better but I'm too nervous. I'm asking at my appointment tomorrow.
I'm not a bath person, but my doctor suggested a Sitz bath to help with healing. No soap, just warm, clean water in a clean tub. I'm not actually sure about a regular bath though.
