Re: WFB

  • Little dude had bananas and french toast sticks this morning. No syrup though. That would have been a hot mess.

  • Blueberries and a blueberry waffle. He eats that pretty much daily. DH does the breakfast deal during the week and his philosophy is, if it ain't broke. I agree though - I eat the same thing for breakfast every day. So does DH. We are boring breakfast people, lol.

  • waffles/pancakes/french toast with berries....eggs with any type of veggies...raisin toast with cream cheese and jelly....
  • This morning she had a few cooked apple slices, a piece of jelly toast, and some Cheerios. Normally she has a banana with either cheerios, a sausage link, or a nutrigrain bar, but I need to go for groceries today and am out of bananas. Other things we do are peanut butter toast, a waffle, sometimes eggs but those are hit or miss with her.

  • Blueberry yogurt (I still purée various fresh and frozen fruits to mix with plain yogurt I get from a nearby farm, so DD can have flavored yogurt without all the added sugar/sweeteners) and oatmeal. Yogurt and cereal is pretty standard during the week since it's quick and easy, but on weekends we will do omelets and/or pancakes.

  • Oatmeal, a piece of buttered toast, a banana, some milk and maybe a scrambled egg if she seems interested.

  • We do any of the following but always at least 1 fruit: banana, blueberries, yogurt, frittata, toast with PB, cheerios, diced peaches, oatmeal, eggs, waffle, melon, pancake, sausage....he's pretty much an animal with food, he eats it all........except milk....he hates all forms.

Breakfast today was oatmeal with craisins and no sugar applesauce with cinnamon.

Our other typical breakfasts are frozen mini pancakes with fresh fruit, frozen mini waffles with fresh fruit, or frozen French toast with fresh fruit.

It's sad how much I rely on frozen breakfast food for the kids. But it's so easy to pop it in the microwave or toaster and they eat it.

Does anyone do cereal with milk yet?

  • Breakfast is almost always kamut puffs mixed with golden crisps. It's the only cereal ds can eat. I alternate between cheese or a fruit with it.

Ds also recently decided he hates eggs.

I assumed everyone saying "waffles" meant frozen. :P I give DS frozen everything, waffles, veggies, etc...

You ladies cook a mean breakfast. My poor kid had mandrine oranges and cheerios ;) if you are talking in general usually toast, bagel with cream cheese, waffle, eggs and some fruit with whatever I chose. I don't get that creative.

This sounds exactly like me. I'm not much of a breakfast person, I used to just eat cereal every day. I'm trying to eat some more nutritious things now (rather than Reese's Puffs or Cinnamon Toast Crunch) but I still don't get very creative.

  • If I didn't cook a big hearty breakfast my kids would be bothering me an hour later (and then every hour after that until lunch) for snacks.  They are just like their dad and need a huge breakfast.  We do eggs everyday with fruit and some kind of pancake - banana pancake, squash pancake, almond pancake, etc.  Those that don't have dairy allergies also get yogurt.  Weekends we also do a meat - bacon or sausage.

  • I'm usually too tired to think about breakfast. My kids get cereal or toast. But we do cinnamon rolls on the weekend. :)

Jack eats multiple breakfasts.  When he first gets up, he has a smoothie (prepared the night before and placed in the fridge for him).  Then he has oatmeal.  Then he has some fruit.  Then, he usually has some leftovers from the previous night's dinner.  This is all before 10 a.m.

First thought upon reading this? Jack is a hobbit from Lord of the rings! First breakfast, second breakfast, morning tea, elevensies... Lol!

LOL. :) I couldn't agree more. Thanks for a much needed laugh.

I didn't want to assume that everyone was relying on frozen breakfast food like me since many of you ladies amaze me when I read about the amazing dinners that you somehow have the time, energy, motivation, and talent to cook. Not in this house! :)
